  • We wanted to send man to the moon. / We did. We wanted to supply man with a / way to communicate through fiber optics. / We did that too. But what happens when the / human counterpart is so reliant on technology, / that it forgets to…be human? Numbers, dates, / appointments all stored in a portable database. / Families neglect to interact with each other because / they all have a human counterpart that they can connect / with. Patience is a thing of the past because anything / they want is at their fingertips. Ideas are unoriginal / because they have all been thought of before; typed, dated, / and logged. • I took this picture a couple of years ago at the beach of Marina di Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. / This is a fine example I think of how a fisheye lens can completely change the feeling of an ordinary scene. The subject is simply some surf on the seashore, captured from a distance of not more than a foot. / The original picture is a Fuji Velvia 50 Iso medium format slide. Hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo

  • laying on the ground shooting macros again, this large-flowered white trillium and large flower bellwort were growing side by side, and nope, the shot isnt upside down, the bellwort grows that way :) / shot this macro using a nikon diopter lens attached to a canon 75-300mm lens / thanks to tom biggs, and his buddy harold ross jr, for turning me on to this new location to shoot. this was in the smoky mountains on the north carolina side This shot won the April Photo contest held by the Knoxville News Sentinal newspaper in Knoxville Tn / Contest titled….Spring Scene Photo Contest 2009 :)

  • Find me a cheekier beef horse than this, and I’ll gladly give you my favourite teapot. Detail, colour, taste and pure cheek – this cheeky cow’s got the lot. To quote what she said to me just after I took the picture: “Moo”. And you can’t argue with that. Proud of your kitchen? Imagine this beauty on your wall. As a picture, I mean. Not the actual cow. Look at my lovely shop: http://baddoggy.redbubble.com/ Taken on the cliffs above Robin Hood’s Bay, near Whitby, North Yorkshire. I could’ve cropped it conventionally, but I couldn’t bring myself to chop out that sky.

  • Model – Halohid Anyone in Adelaide should know this location. It sticks out like a sore thumb. / Naturally, I had to use it. It’s just so PINK! Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas

  • An occupational hazzard associated with being the official photographer for the RSPCA WA! This little guy’s sole agenda was to jump at me and latch onto whatever he could. In this case it was the leg of my jeans, but he also had a good chew on my hand, camera strap and even a 50mm lens! This puppy was re-homed the day this shot was taken. Profit portion of any sales will go to the RSPCA WA. Taken with a Canon 5D and 50mm prime lens @ f1.8, ISO 1000, 1/400th sec, handheld. Featured in Canon DSLR Group Feb 2009. Featured in Workshop Camera Club June 2009. Placed in top 10 (9th) in Paws ‘n’ claws Dog Profile Challenge, August 2009.

Sales 1 Matted Print Featured in the Transport group on the 15th of April 2009 On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. • / I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.

  • Sandhill cranes prepare to fly to warmer climes. Clouds enshroud the Kenai mountains behind them as they fly over Cook Inlet. I had this printed quite large and feel delighted with the clarity of the cranes! Dedicated to Australia’s Barbara Burkhardt, with whom I had tea and a moment of joy. Wonderful subtle sense of humor (humour).. I feel fortunate to have met this adventuous, talented woman and her handsome husband as they toured Alaska. I assume all Australians are as fun. Nikon D200, Nikkor 18-200mm VR, 3771×2523 px Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – an honor Geese returning last spring against the same Kenai mountains without the cloud cover / Sandhill cranes catching a thermal over Cook Inlet / High tide at about 9 p.m. last night /

  • We had too much wind today to capture these wildflowers outdoors. Thus, almost a wild setting except for: An antique (a.k.a. tarnished) silver vase / Nikon D200 / Nikkor 105mm macro lens / 105mm / f/22 / 1.3 sec / -0.3ev / ISO 100 / manual exposure and focusing / studio lights / Collapsible gold reflector disc, mostly to shield the vase from too much light / Manfrotto tripod / Converted from RAW to jpeg using Capture NX2.2.1 The true macro lacks even more emotion, but was a joy for me to shoot. (Not posted). /

  • For all survivors Nikon D200 and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens, 50mm, f/1.8 and 1/250 sec, -0.3ev, IS0 100, spot metering, Manfrotto tripod. Attempt the following day: And photo by my sister when we were young. I felt safe when with her. Links to my blog. /
