Following on from the ‘problems’ last friday – and the promised resolution Let me be the first to congratulate Craig Goldsmith for his fantastic image – selected as the recipient of that o-so-gorgeous Leica. James

  • After the James Blunt concert at Sydney Entertainment Quarter at mid-night, my friends decided to go and see the balloons in Canberra in the early morning. I drove to canberra in 4 hours and wow, so peaceful and energetic and the same time. Commonwealth Place, Canberra, Australia / 2006-04-15 4:52 AM – Yes the time is the key! • Almost finished my second roll of film (the first didn’t advance so it was a right off) the second is definitely on, so I’m looking forward to the results. In the meantime, I’ve been enjoying taking photos of the camera its just so damn sexy! Thanks again Redbubble and stay tuned some Leica images will be coming soon.

  • I have been having fun with film lately.

  • I hope the quality is ok – only just getting used to scanning film – last image was not big enough :)

  • I haven’t put anything up for a while as I have been messing around with film and Polaroids and just didn’t find the time to scan. However, the rain is so bad here today I got around to scanning some film. I have also been reading a fascinating book on the American snapshot and have been experiementing with my family on the good old ‘snapshot’ of their lives. This is Fleur wearing her swimming goggles to the play park.

  • I took this shot with a US flag that I own. Set it up on my desk and bounced the flash. I really like the detail in the weave. I gave it a classic Americana feel. I hope you enjoy this image.

  • My friend Andrew using another friend Paddy’s incredibly beautiful Leica digital camera. I want one and there is harm in wanting. / Portrait taken on the Aran Islands last September at the wonderful wedding of Ciaran & Olwen.

  • The Icon. You know you want it… Also, 3 is better than one!

  • This is the beach at a squatters town, Broke Inlet, at the end of a 4-wheel drive track, on the south coast of Western Australia, near Walpole. It is a fabulous place to explore, especially as – if they pull down the shacks – there may only be this view and a few pieces of driftwood left. I have changed the original post to offset the wood and reduce the saturation Taken with Leica MP, 24mm lens, Velvia 100 film

  • Last day of our holiday on Pittwater, north of Sydney taken from a chartered Hanse 342. / Taken with Leica MP, 35mm lens,Velvia 400 film FEATURED IN A PLACE TO CALL HOME! /

  • Taken at Matilda Bay, Perth, Western Australia. I think that’s a peppermint tree. Leica MP, 90 mm lens, Ilford HP5 Plus 400 b&w film, scanned and tweaked to sepia in Photoshop using Nik Silver Efex pro 34 favs at 17 Nov 09 FEATURED: / THE WOMAN PHOTOGRAPHER, / A PHOTOGRAPHER’S CRAFT / THE ASHES – AUSTRALIA VS ENGLAND

  • I have been scanning lots of negatives lately and came across these that I took last autumn. I didn’t initially print them because my beloved Leica R3 had a light leak – some negs were beyond saving but I have managed to get quite a few where I feel the light leakage has actually been beneficial to the outcome. I may be posting more from this series or might just put them on my website .. they work better as a body of work than singular. You get more of an insight into childhood and how a walk in a frost laden woodland opens up a new world to them.

  • Another image taken from a woodland walk last autumn. Part of a series which I hope to put up on my website very soon.

  • I can’t really explain why I wanted to post this. I just keep coming back to it. I think I like the grain and the timeless feel it has. This was taken on my Leica r3 – film scanned .. this is part of a body of work taken on a woodland walk.

  • MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGE A boutique shopping street in Perth, Western Australia before the retail therapy begins on a saturday morning. The sun was shining and I had slow film and a fast lens!. taken with my Leica MP, 50mm noctilux lens, 1/1000 sec and about f4. Velvia 50 film. Ken Rockwell’s review of the new Velvia 50 compares it very favourably to the original and it’s his film of choice.

  • For most of us this is as close as we’re likely to get to having a real Leica M9 hanging around our necks. The ‘actual size’ camera image has straps and is placed on the T shirt to give the impression that it is a real camera being worn. For those who do have a Leica it will appear as if you are wearing two cameras. Either way it’s a funky shirt!

  • Can’t afford a real M9, show that you’d like one with this M9 shirt. Available in different styles and camera body colours.
