I just liked the colours of the partridge, and how often do you get close enough to get a shot like this… lovely bird. Taken on a hike through Farndale in the North York Moors… unfortunatley I was too late for the daffy show .. Taken with a Canon G10 Compact Camera.

Soon after he landed I saw that he had had a successful strike and he was already fast at work eating. At this point I was not sure what his prey was. I did see that he he was holding it down with one of his talons. Notice how strong and powerful his legs are. This hawk has a stocky build and his legs are a sure sign of that. Canon 40D

A wonderful opportunity today…the sun peaked out long enough to wake this little guy and have him zipping over my garden….was hard to pin him down but I finally got a few shots that I like.
