King Arthur, waits quietly for the ages to turn. He knows that there will be a time when the curse must be lifted, world order restored… and makeovers are much cheaper. :)

The fantasy behind this is based on The Mabinogi- a famous Welsh legend. Arawn is the King of Annwn, who appears in the first of the four branches of The Mabinogi. This is how I imagine his kingdom- both glorious and apocalyptic. (The photograph was taken in Milan, and altered using PS CS3).

Watercolor on board. Many countries have myths about female spirits dwelling beneath the waves. Mermaids, selkies, pukas, sprites and more all lived in the watery mysterious realms. I’ll be including more information soon on this topic.

I like this image in the black version too (negative). So thought it might appeal to others as well. Flying black Pegasus. Beautiful creature from myth and legend.

/ The Waterfall located at Willis Mountain nearby Jombang city in East Java Province Indonesia..they call it Sedudo which means double face. / There is a legend that says that a giant with 2 faces lived and guarded that place in ancient times to make sure that only the nymph from heaven would bath in that place. any other person who would bath in that place would be eaten by the giant. So I took the change to compose the image with faces to complete the story behind the image..hope you like it..for me it’s just another fun with Photoshop / thanks for looking..much appreciated Ant / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— Portrait / Architectural / people/culture / Macro / Landscape / Still live / Animal / Nude/FineArt / SunsetCollection / Flowers / Model Maria Anne / Model Saskia Ying / Model Blondie / Model Tammy / Kids / The Book Of Love / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—— / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. “Congress finds and declares that the wild free-roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the west, that they contribute to the diversity of life forms within the nation and enrich the lives of the American people; and that these horses and burros are fast disapperaring from the American scene.” The Wild Free-roaming horses and burros act of 1971. All of the elements of this photomanipulation were photographed in my studio and asembled in Adobe Photoshop. / The model portraying Pandora is one of my mainstays – Laurie Love (who is also “Alice” in my Wonderland series) She can also be seen in this picture as the portrait hanging on the wall. / The model for the “evil” spirits is 17 year old Israeli beauty Shelly Haggig… / The Pandora myth always fascinated me as a child (and still does today) being that it can be interpreted on so many levels. Perhaps it is meant to be a cautionary tale of how some things should not be meddled with or consequently – the importance of following directions. / I like to think however, that she represents the endless inquisitive spirit of humankind and that with every innovation and step forward , there can be negative consequences unleashed. However, in order for us to evolve and grow as human beings – we must face our inner demons and banish them…Only then can we truly evolve… and of course, the last words of the tale are: / “And then there was Hope!”

The Fates…. Even the Gods fear them

Thank you to Max Gatrell for letting me use this wonderful poem for this piece! The Deeply Alluring Succubus So sleep in thy bed, for her time is thus, / The Deeply alluring Succubus. / She is a women in gait, touch and smell, / Her outward appearence is very well. / She enters thy chamber at a Quater to Four, / has no fear of locks, for she floats through the door. / Her purpose is plain, she has just one need, / The spawn of a man or rather his seed. If one was awoken during this act, / they’d be pleasently surprised, I know for a fact. / Cause she is quite stunning, an Angel to view, / but if knew thee forsooth, you’d probably spew. / for she is a Demon under that skin, / The Devils of night, she counts as her Kin. / her stunning visage covers this truth, / but look deep in her eyes and there lies thy proof. Her eyes are a violet purple in shade, / to see them alone would make one afraid. / A Hypnotyic gaze, a dazzling beam, / flows from her eyes, an aura supreme. / it keeps one inert, unable to flee, / as she straddles thee hard, swaying with glee. / tis folly to resist, futile to fight, / For she holds thee down, with immortal might. So fear for thyself, young man in thy room, / For she’s on the prowl, spreading her gloom. / but best to accept it, when she’s on thy lap, / lest she gets nasty and gives thee the clap. / though things could be worse, than her in thy bed, / better to be ridden, than lose thy sweet head. / Thus if she appears, don’t make a fuss, / That deeply alluring Succubus.

‘Inspirational Series’ card by Karin Taylor Where is Red Dog is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper using ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal. The original painting was inspired by the legend of ‘Red Dog’, aka ‘The Pilbara Wanderer’ of Western Australia. Red Dog was a loyal friend and stout companion to all who knew him. In this painting, the girl on the skateboard represents us in our search for love and acceptance and ‘Red Dog’ symbolises that quintessential spirit of the friend, whose love and acceptance we all yearn for.

Amazingly there are 20 species of Magpie in the world. Not quite sure which I have painted here… looks more like an Australian magpie Many people consider them superstitious, they certainly have their place in folklore, some believe they bring good luck, others believe bad. I remember being played Rossini’s Thriving Magpie when I was quite young; it is said they have a panache for shiny, silvery things which they like to steal and hide. / Here the magpie has found a key! I wonder where it came from? I see him as a ‘Keeper of Secrets’. / The selected text comes from a traditional rhyme I was told as a child: One for sorrow, Two for joy, / Three for a girl, Four for a boy, / Five for Silver, Six for Gold / Seven for a secret never to be told This is an acrylic painting on canvas.

Watercolor On Watercolor Board This image was created during a period when I was interested in Welsh mythology. I liked the concept of gods and goddesses, fairies and otherworldly beings walking the land and interacting with mortals. Dragons slept beneath the earth and under lakes, guarding treasure and awaiting the time to awaken and arise. Another layer of interpretation regards what is hidden within ourselves, buried in the land of the psyche. The bones of experiences long ago are hidden deep within, alongside undiscovered treasure. ‘Inspirational Series’ card by Karin Taylor Nancy, Patsy, Ellen and Red Dog is a mixed media production. I used ink, pastel, acrylic and charcoal on canvas textured paper. The original painting was just auctioned for charity recently. This work was also inspired by the _‘Legend of Red Dog aka The Pilbara Wanderer’, as is ‘Where is Red Dog’. Red Dog was an adventurous dog who seemed to belong to an entire community. / When his soulmate John died, Red Dog searched for him for the rest of his days, that’s loyalty for you! This painting depicts the time Red Dog’s search for John took him all the way from the dusty outback to Cottesloe Beach, with the girls from his hometown hot on his tail…... If you look closely you can see the tips of Red Dog’s ears way out past the breakers!
