Ok so as the story goes… this was right place right time with a camera and imagination…. / I had just taken Dylan (son, featured) to the park for his afternoon play and was carrying around my Canon 20D (getting old now.. poor baby) and 50mm lens.. When we spotted this tiny little heart on the ground.. 1+1=2.. :D (I think?)

It is always the Chase with Spot, the conquest is secondary. Black glass magic – I had gone on this shoot with a bad attitude, expecting the sky to be bland and the day to be a waste of time, and therefore I set the camera on large jpg so I wouldn’t waste too much computer space….As it turned out, I’ve managed to drag out some amazing results. This is another straight from the camera image, although I had to take it into PS to straighten the horizon…. Canon 5D Mk II, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 90seconds, ISO 50, Hoya NDX400, Singh Ray 3 stop reverse grad, Lee 0.9 ND grad, tripod, cable release, lots of guessing….I should point out the red sky is enhanced by the Singh Ray filter, which seems to put a colour cast across the ND area when used in conjunction with the Lee filter…. - / SEASCAPES / NEW ZEALAND / PEOPLE
