Continuing with my musician theme I thought I’d have a go at Led Zepp. I completed this piece after Wylde and Chino but long before Splash Out, WyldeR, Chino II. Looking at it now I don’t think it has as much oomph or pizzaz as my more recent stuff, but without it I would not be where I’m at now with my painting and I am still proud of it. Like most of my paintings each one sheds a new light on a new technique, brush stroke, colur scheme and so on. Each paintng leaves me with something I can take to my next piece.

9×12 watercolor and colored pencil on watercolor paper This is another piece inspired by a Led Zeppelin song, Going to California. Particularly the lines “someone told me there’s a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair”. And then there is that purely esoteric line “Children of the sun begin to awake.” / The ancient Incans called themselves The Children of the Sun. They had legends of a white bearded man that came from ancient Lemuria and brought to them the great spiritual knowledge of Lemuria. Many believe that it is the souls of Lemuria that are awaking now(The Children of the Sun) and are bringing us into the New Age of Peace and Enlightenment. I wonder if Plant knew all this when he wrote those lyrics.

Members of group LED ZEPPELIN have highly appreciated this version. / _____ Stairway To Heaven There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold / And she’s buying a stairway to heaven. / When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed / With a word she can get what she came for. / Ooh, ooh, and she’s buying a stairway to heaven. There’s a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure / ‘Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. / In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings, / Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven. / Ooh, it makes me wonder, / Ooh, it makes me wonder. There’s a feeling I get when I look to the west, / And my spirit is crying for leaving. / In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees, / And the voices of those who stand looking. / Ooh, it makes me wonder, / Ooh, it really makes me wonder.
