WHat particularly drew me to this scene were the patterns of light and shadow on the rocks and leaves. Taken on an Autumn afternoon in Jacob’s Fork River, South Mountain State Park, NC. Figuring out a way to get from one slippery and mossy rock to another in order to take the photo was a real challenge too-especially carrying tripod and camera equipment. / Nikon D50, 42mm,F22 ,2 sec / viewed 937 times as of 11/06/09 / /

Yesterday was the tapering of the autumn storm. Storm tears roofs and knock down trees. I’ve got the dogs and the camera equipment … did you bring the fried chicken and potato salad?? Image taken at Triadelphia Reservoir off of Route 97 in Montgomery County, Maryland, October 26, 2009. Nikon D300 with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens; UV and CP filters; hand held, shutter 1/100, aperture f/10.0, exp.0.00, iso 500. Post processing included hdr at +/- 2 evals in Photomatix from a single hand held image. A very faint amount of texture layer added in Photoshop. Thanks to Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art for the texture.
