This is an acetate painted version of my lead pencil drawing of my dragon called Oscar. It is from a Poem/story I am writing and illustrating. The “Hedge Maze” art work I have uploaded is one of the frist scenes in the story. This scene is Oscar climbing up the Urn to try and eat the roses, with dire consequences… Top Ten in Stories I can Tell in Dragon’s Fire Group Challenge July 2009

Acrylic on canvas board. This is a very personal portrait that I did as a gift for a dear friend. The painting is of my friend’s mum who passed away many years ago. It’s my way of thanking my friend for all that he has done for me and all that we have shared. Remembrance / (A poem by me for a dear friend) Once when dreams were released and freed / I found a place that was inside of me / Buried, suppressed, abandoned and caged / So many gifts left wounded and frayed Opened again to adore the sunlight / Fear took a leap and my heart found delight / To express what was hidden, to revel in me / All of this you helped me to see Memories and echoes of joy long imprisoned / Surfaced to fight in the freedom of the forgiven / Lost and abandoned, forlorn and in doubt / God reached within me and helped me to get out Through the hand of his faithful, through pure love in words / The gift of God’s freedom found my burden’s finally heard / “Tis time to be Tahnja. Tis time to be you, / Without all the sorrow, without all that’s untrue” I heard God’s voice as He found the corner’s of my pain / Where even I had forgotten how to live in love’s pure vein / But then with song rejoicing I burst forth into the Son / Where hearts as pure as snow found God and became one So no matter what the distance, no matter where we are / I hold close to me the remembrance of what we have shared thus far / Times of joy and sorrow, of endless conversations / Compassion and intelligence, humour and frustrations But most of all the remembrance of all you did for me / Of friendship that is eternal, of a love that will always be / In return for all that sacrifice, in an effort to heal the betrayals / I give you a gift from my heart so that you know where my true love hails Remember me when you are praying, remember me when time moves on / Remember the love that was healing, remember the love that was strong / For surely twin souls will remember the journey of God as we roam / To uphold one another forever, til the time comes for us to return home… * * / Forever in my heart, forever in my soul / Forever is eternal, remember me..forever… * * Tahnja

The trees are positively glowing in the warm light of the setting sun at the lake! Rose Valley Lake and the surrounding property is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, managed by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. This photo was taken just before sunset on Saturday, October 10th, with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 35mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/500th sec at f/5.6. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome!
