  • Vector Artwork / Contrary means: opposite in nature or character, and unfavorable or adverse – which i think are all quite fitting for yet another un-”sunshine and lolliepops” piece. At first glace, it does look all nice, and its really not! Consider a Dragon Snail good luck in your garden as it leaves a trail of diamonds, careful he doesn’t burn the place down. Excellent source for fire outdoors, favourite food: lotus flowers Found this one a bit more challenging for content – i still think it could use some more “groud cover” as plentiful as in: / I found Alice easier for ideas, as its a party, and there’s lots of things to have/take ;) / This one took around 2 days quicker, but is just in the garden…. perhaps some more garden impliments? it really needs more stuff, let me know if you have any ideas, and i’ll add them in. / Alternative Title: Mary mary why ya buggin’? (lol) /

  • A couple of rocks offering a resting place to a pair of leaves. The intriguing thing about this shot as you walked downstream the golden reflection of the trees above disapears. I was shocked to see this vivid color as I walked to a point cross stream. Needless to say I just about tumbled into the water because I was so excited to enjoy this view.

  • Aspen leaves, like silver dollars, cover the mossy ground all around. Taken in Big Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah. Shot with Canon Rebel XTi 1.3 sec. at f20 ISO 200

  • This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Currently, there are more than 24 million people in the world with dementia—this is estimated to rise to 81 million by the year 2040.6 / Statistics taken from both the Canadian and American Alzeihmer’s Society. / Published by Redbubble in Compassion, Courage and Friendship book October 2008 / Compassion, Courage & Friendship Top Ten in the Mood & Ambience, The Seated Human challenge, July 2009 / Featured in the Nirvana group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the RB Buyer’s Booth November 2008 / Featured in the Stillness Speaks group November 2008 / Featured on RB homepage on November 25/08 / The Fine Art of Photography

  • “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.“ John Muir Photo taken at Groton State Forest, Vermont, October 2008. Owl’s Head Trail.

  • Yesterdays shooting where I had to scouted this canyon and slid down in from the top and followed the water down a 1/2 mile before I could find a spot to climb out. Some nice Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream near Mt. Rainier

  • WHat particularly drew me to this scene were the patterns of light and shadow on the rocks and leaves. Taken on an Autumn afternoon in Jacob’s Fork River, South Mountain State Park, NC. Figuring out a way to get from one slippery and mossy rock to another in order to take the photo was a real challenge too-especially carrying tripod and camera equipment. / Nikon D50, 42mm,F22 ,2 sec / /

  • Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water

  • A spot I found a couple of years ago and decided that now would be a great time to visit given the peak fall colors. What I didn’t count on was all the blowdown from last winter which made this short journey a 2 hour scramble over and under rock and log. I think the hike was worth it! Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream as it flows over boulder and rock.

  • Colorful maple leaves scattered across moss covered boulders as a small streams tumbles around a bend in Washington near Mt. Rainier

  • Lake Falls in Matthiessen State Park is possibly the most magical, spiritual waterfall I have ever photographed. It is special and always blesses me with a wonderful spiritual feel to it. It inspires me to be religous in some way that I cannot explain. / The whirlpool is like God. He has no beginning and no end.

  • What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm. Available large, and definately best viewed Large!
