The Girls of Deadly are the Naked This is one of a series of illustrations I did for the first EP of the band “Deadly are the Naked”. The brief was inspired by 50s pin-ups/femme fatales, referring to the work of Gil Elvgren, Edward Runci, Alberto Vargas, George Petty etc. Only two illustrations ended up in the EP but I did a heap of sketches which I’ve decided to make into finished pieces and present them here on Red Bubble in a little section I like to call “The Girls of Deadly are the Naked”.

I dissected three digital photographs that I had taken, and discarded the pieces of each that I did not want in my composition. Then I horizontally flipped the building to face the other way on another layer. The various layers were then re-arranged and their blend modes were changed. I dropped the transparencies down below 100% to let the detail show through more in the top layer.

—a hotel and the Sacramento’s Convention Center, as seen from Capitol Park This photograph was taken with a Nikon D80 camera using a tripod. I used the Nikkor 70-300MM telescopic lens and no pre-processing onboard. This was VERY early in my DSLR usage and I had no understanding of ISO, aperture, or shutter speed variables when shooting at night. So the shot was taken solely by adjusting shutter speed. I can’t remember which setting I used, SHUTTER PRIORITY or MANUAL, but it wasn’t AUTO (which I tried to my complete embarrassment much later) and it wasn’t the preset for NIGHTIME. In the dark, I completely forgot that was even an option. LOL! Since it was obviously taken at night and I was alone in a park in the dark, naturally I was approached by two of “California’s Finest” who were curious as to what I was doing. I tried not to hesitate when considering whether or not to tell them I was training my 3-winged bald eagle to play Frisbie. But, hesitate I did and I was asked to show them a picture, something I was eager to do since they had loaded weapons available and I was feeling somewhat intimidated.
A digital montage inspired by my time spent at TAFE College studying Digital Multimedia Design and my limited knowledge of esoteric belief systems.
This was made for a friend that plays in a band, he loved to wear it when they played. He wore his out and asked if I would make him a new one. So I thought I would share it…...
I know it’s an oldie, but I like the idea. I tease my students at school with this line all the time.
To those of you who know me, I apologise. I thank the photographer for being kind. This may not last.

This how-to will explain how to use a Framed image or laminated print etc as your Bubblesite home page image / I will use a framed image for this example. First step was to Find the image I wanted to use,Then I added a Frame and Picked the matte color. Now It needs to be downloaded to your computer To Do This (in Firefox)Right click the image and choose “Save Image As” I Labeled My New image as “HomePage Image” and saved it to my Desktop. If you are using the Black theme (as I am now) You can fill the edges around the frame before you upload. Up load it to redbubble, But be sure to set the options as I did below So it does not show up where you don’t want it to. This is my charming and ever so sweet grandson, Michael. I bought him this guitar two years ago Christmas. Since then, he has been teaching himself how to play almost daily. He is very committed to learn. The focus of course is the front end view of the guitar …..He has this photo hanging on the wall of his home. He’s Preteen! /

i find my artwork is difficult to photograph [ian could i believe make a better version but we are in different hemspheres] i begin with a collage made of various items… for this one i used strips of card … then i used acrylic paint [as always] the purpose is that people of impared vision or blind people who otherwise are excluded from many artistic works can enjoy the textures and contours- / i hope to be able to bring my work to children too – especially those with learning difficulties / annie
