An IR shot of an old fence and some trees.
This is an infrared shot. It was a very overcast day – not much blue sky about at all so I tried something a little different with this one. / Hope you like it.
The YMCA near my house has a mini version of “The Leaning Tower of Pisa”. Not sure why. Maybe that Chicago suburb + Pisa are sister cities or some rich person from Pisa donated lots of $ to the Y.
Woodblock Print / April 2008 / Printed on Japanese Awa paper / Size of original print: 20cms x 30 cms This is a reduction print, which was taken further than this stage, but I wasn’t as happy with the next stage as I am with this one. Only one print remains of this stage. I am planning to attempt something completely different with what is left of the plate after it was carved out further.

Looking at the stars…., it is what the kids did during our Art in All of Us (www.artinallofus.org) activities in their tiny village in Congo last year !!!
For the past three years or so, my dad, Tim and my brother, Jack and I take photography trips together. Often we are taking photos of the same subject matter but it is interesting how each of us see it and interpret it differently. My next series of postings are from a trip I took with my dad to Upper Michigan. We spent time in Copper Harbor, Calumet, Houghton, Hancock, and many little historical towns. The goal was fall colors. While on the trip we found other subject matter. I hope you enjoy my interpretation. Stop by my dads sight and see how he views similar subjects. This image was taken off the shores of Lake Superior at Eagle Harbor, Michigan. Please View Larger
I found this chair on the side of the road…my hubby thought I was mad bringing it home….lol…..especially when I told him I had plans to take it to the beach….
OK…I admit it….I am completely obsessed with this old chair….. I just wanted to let you know that I will be posting more pictures of it…at least until my obsession is satisfied….or the chair falls apart. I figure, if I am going to lug it all over the country side I have to at least post pictures of it to make it worthwhile….....I just hope you’ll come along for the ride. If you’re really keen I have more versions on another site

Companion Poem: Longing and Forgetting Winter and the few remaining birds / squat on wires stretched / from pole to pole / alongside the coastline: / dark ink blotches / unmoving. Dusk comes hard / in this borderland / between longing and forgetting / and we speed beyond / the sea-shack shanties, / worn signposts, / leaving behind / the coastline / and an odd remembrance / of what we cannot become. Here between sky and sea / what we’ve known / is gradually erased. / The familiar becomes / fuzzy, distant / until what is bird / and what is sky / cannot be known. The only certainty, you say, / is the replay: caught as we are / on this awful road to becoming / like some damn mobius strip / destined to travel again and again / and I watch / as you turn your shoulder / into the next curve / so that your body / becomes the car, / becomes my very breath, / catching.
