A tulip ^^ Post-Processing: / Cropped, adjusted the white balance and contrast in adobe camera raw. Adjusted the curves, added a texture set to overlay (35%), added the same texture with a rotation set to overlay (15%). Added three black and white layers, one set to multiply (10%), one set to overlay (5%) and one set to normal (20%). Changed the hue by +7.

There was once a girl, Karina was her name. Karina loved ballet dancing above everything else. Her grandparents bought her first pair of ballet shoes and she wore them everywhere she went. Whenever she danced, she exhibited so much grace and poise that made the flowers grew pale in comparison. Karina was happy for there was nothing else she imagined doing other than dancing, dancing and dancing. Indeed, Karina had found her bliss in life. Thanks to Karin who inspired me to create this piece of work ;D /

This is another one of the flowers from my show and poems for her. Her laughter was contagious it made every body smile. / Her eyes were like fire it warmed you to your bones. / And then she came and hugged you she was such a precious thing. / She could melt your heat with her tears and make you cry with her too. / She was a little angel sent to me with love. / She had a way that was her own she knew just what she wanted. / And when she set her mind to it you gave her all she asked. / She knew just what would break my heart she work at it real hard. / She knew just how to make me laugh as she sat up on my knee. / I knew that this was going to be the challenge of my life. / I told my wife I wanted a son and not a little daughter. / But here I sit with a little angel sent from high above. / She got me eating out her hand I knew that this would happen! / But this I can tell you, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Springtime brings its beautiful show of cherry blossoms every year. I always look forward to it. With this tree, I found a great vantage point to enjoy the blooms. I’m a lover of texture, so I had to get a mix of that rough bark with the fluffy blossoms in the shot. Looking through the lens, I really enjoyed the tinted sky peeking through the foliage. The almost-aqua blue is there sparingly – just enough to set off the other colours in places. Photo taken in Delta, British Columbia (Canada) with a Canon PowerShot A1000 IS camera.
