  • I discovered the TTV technique today on flickr, so I tried a combination of my lomo Lc-a + Nikon D50 / I like the result. / Now I wanna get a Argus 75 because the Lomo Lc-a’s viewfinder is tiny! / I am glad to see that the same day, a TTV group just opened here! How weird.

  • / Taken in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

  • “Rolling On” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © An approaching afternoon storm appears on the horizon while a field of hay bales are still glowing in the sun. / Bowen, Queensland. “And then to dwell in sovereign barns, / And dream the days away, / The grass so little has to do, / I wish I were the hay!” / ~Emily Dickinson

  • “Truth” Photography and Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Birds flying across an orange sunset as if suddenly released from a hidden cage. “I tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for truth – and truth rewarded me.” / ~Simone de Beauvoir

  • “The Road to back of Beyond” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © / Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork I took this with a wide angle lens of the Cape River crossing along the Gregory Development Road. This river only flows during the ‘wet season’ when heavy rains from the Gulf of Carpenteria make their way down to central Queensland and flood the crossing making the road impassable. During the rest of the year the exposed sandy river bottom with its gum trees and willows makes for a shady spot to rest awhile during the long lonely road trip between Charters Towers and Emerald. During the three hour journey I only saw two road trains and one happened along just after I took this! Nothing like a 60 metre long ‘big rig’ hurtling down the road straight for you. Too bad I didn’t get a pic of that!! :)

  • “and the rainforest spoke…” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © / Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork of coolness / tranquility / an ancient life / a vast wilderness / nature’s own / our heritage. Mossman Gorge, Queensland / (best viewed larger)

  • Two hearts / Beat a rhythm / And a song of / Their own… / Forever and ever / The music plays on… Together once more / Another place / And time… / An endless love / Still growing / Given wings to fly. ~Hollyk “endless love” / Photography, Artwork and Verse / by Holly Kempe © / Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork

  • Clouds drift along / in the slipstream of heaven… / Shades of veiled light / caressing the ground. A promise of rains, / a scent fills the senses… / Good night sweet earth, / wet kisses all round. ~ Hollyk “Evening Showers” / Photography, Artwork & Verse / by Holly Kempe © / Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork

  • Another week of stifling heat, / Hazy days with no relief… / From my porch in the cool of evening, / Cicadas sing a monotonous beat, / Cattle low from nearby fields, / As if bemoaning their ordeal. Another sound…...could it be? / On the roof, there above me. / Fingers tapping lightly on tin, / Palms bought together, clapping begins. / I get to my feet, full of elation, / A thunderous applause, it’s a standing ovation! The show plays out from the heavens above, / Thank you God, the rains have come! ~ Hollyk “Hazy Days” / Photography, Artwork & Verse / by Holly Kempe © / Sony a100 camera / Photoshop CS4 artwork / Emerald, Queensland
