fORMaTiNG YOuR TeXt I havent been having too much fun gettin my text written in RB the way i am used to.. formatting that is.. ive had my text cancelled out like this when i put the ”-” symbol between letters – i try and remember not to do that again. Only just now i found another one.. So i thought to self, that i’d better write all these down here in the journal – for future reference : NEW PARAGRAPHS / Press ENTER twice and that will give you a new paragraph automatically. WHEN ON EACH END OF WORD/TEXT : / eg: * bold * (without spaces) symbol * = bolds / / symbol _ = italic symbol ^ = small upper / / symbol – = cancels you out! symbol ~ = makes text smaller / / symbol + = Underlines the text symbol * * * = makes a horizontal rule/line without the spaces / -found by KSERIPHYN_ TO MAKE TEXT CLICKABLE (INTO URL) Put quotation symbols ” ” on each side of the word/sentence you want to make into Links/Clickable and then a COLON (no spaces) straight after, plus the url ; http:// EXAMPLE (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES ” This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal ” : http://www.redbubble.com/people/pduv/journal/show/4812 becomes : This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal TO ADD GRAPHICS INTO YOUR JOURNAL / PLEASE DON’T PUT HUGE PIX, RESIZE/UTILIZE PLACES LIKE IMAGESHACK free image hosting EXAMPLE : (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES) ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.gif ! becomes TIP : You can do save that gif cheat sheet if you want ;) ADDING GRAPHIC & MAKING IT CLICKABLE (LINKED) / for larger pics you want to show, its a good idea to post the Thumbnail size, / and making the graphic clickable to a larger size. To to that just add the :http://website.uwant.url right after the ending exclamation ! mark of the graphic link ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.th.gif !:http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=formatingrbct6.gif / becomes NEW! Adding an ALT equivalent to your image / so that when you hover mouse over the image you can read the title of image example (hover mouse over the button): / add the title of your image in a bracket, for example (IMAGE TITLE) in between the last letter of the image URL and the ending exclamation symbol. look at image below / HEADER TEXT (Large fonts) / add symbol # to each side of the word/sentence for header size font. / / but this seems to work only as header, meaning its gotta be the first sentence/text, like a header. i used it up to in the text that says “Formating Your Text” eg : # Is bigger better? # no spaces MAKING BULLET/LIST Make new/update CheatSheet soon done! New Cheatsheet added to bottom of this page and also in portfolio HERE symbol hAsh plus a space then text will make bullets / -found by KSERIPHYN_ / TEXT GENERATOR keong has found this link to TEXTISM a Text Generator that can help you further with formating style that RB uses. For anyone who uses Firefox and has Greasemonkey installed, Dave Pearson has created a script that replaces the existing hints on RedBubble with the cheatsheet (big thanks to Dave!!) NEW!! I’VE made this into a Mousepad, click on image to see more! / updated cheatsheet (28 July 2007)

As we have already noticed, Redbubble dont speak the same lingo, as in, it doesnt use HTML or CSS etc, which means; we cannot use a lot of the widgets, scripts and all dem goodies out there in here. Which is ok, but sometimes i found that i wanted to promote about my other sites/projects here in my profile.. but couldnt.. till now :) / (well, I figured it out now..prob been able to for ages already..hehe) As you that may have read my previous post, i discovered more of Feedburner goodies recently. In that discovery i found a Widget that can animate your RSS feed – that doesnt use html or scripts, which means we can use it in here! I utilized the RSS Animated widget in two ways : First, i’ve been wanting to bring my journal post entry titles further UP in my profile, but cuz ive got a pretty jam packed profile on the left hand side..it forces the Journal Entries way down to the bottom end, and i dont know if people scroll that far down! LOL! So with animated rss widget from Feedburner (i chose the Email option/display) I can now place (like below for example) in the higher end of my profile, where it will ‘flash’ the most recent post (utilizing my rb journal rss feed), Hopefully giving it more attention.. the second way i used it.. / is to take the half banner size option on white background of the same Animated Widget – with feeds from my two sites, Artdictive and Webgrrl’shop – flashing the most recent posts there.. / WANT TO MAKE A QUICK ANIMATION OF YOUR ART * / for display purposes like the moving images below ? / Go to PICASION where you can Create Animated GIF online for free! Upload your pictures or grab them from Flickr or Picasa Web, make avatars or funny animations and post it to MySpace, LiveJournal, Facebook or Redubble. No need for Flash FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO SEE STATS / At the bottom of my profile you should be able to see LIVE STATS, free service by FEEDJIT . Make sure you get the Run-Anywhere Widget (link takes you directly there) Usually they all are scripts, but this one is not and i’ve been quite happy using Feedjit services on most of my blogs for free interesting stats. See how it all looks at my profile (clickty click) Have you found tools and toys you can use in Redbubble?*

A plan for my culminating project in art. This is just a sketch scanned into photoshop and edited so that it might look like the real thing. The real thing will be, like, 6 feet by 3 feet on butcher paper, and with gouache and gesso and stuff… I’m working on it now, and it’s so so fun :) Nothing beats traditional hand done stuff, really.

  • The challenge was to design a poster that promotes your work. This will probably be tweaked a million times :) but here it is at the moment. / Why is it always harder to think of something for yourself? Thanks for looking! Hi, Over the last few weeks Russ has been working on an update to the look and feel of RedBubble. The primary reason for this has been to improve the maintainability of the code – as a lot of crazy code had slipped in over the last two years. But while he was touching all of the pages Russ also updated the look and feel. I’m a big fan of Russ’ work … he’s on a long term mission to simplify the site. Anyway – you can have a sneak preview of the new look and feel here Note: this is our staging server – which we use to test new work. The data on the staging server is not the same as the data on the live site. Your accounts won’t work, they’re be lots of half finished bit and pieces that we’re still working on et cetera et cetera. But you will get a sense of where the design is heading and the new look and feel we’re planning to release next week. Your thoughts and comments are welcome – particularly if you find a visual display bug with the new look and feel. Cheers, Peter

  • 350 is the red line for human beings, the most important number on the planet. The most recent science tells us that unless we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million, we will cause huge and irreversible damage to the earth. We’re planning an international campaign to unite the world around the number 350, and we need your help. We need to make sure that the solutions the world proposes to climate change are to scale with the level of crisis that this number represents. Everyone on earth, from the smallest village to the cushiest corner office, needs to know what 350 means. The movement to spread that number needs to be beautiful, creative, and unstoppable.
