Westfield – Nov 2007 – Well not mine…. but…
The Palm House was erected in 1881 – 1882. / One hundred and thirteen metres long, the Palm House consists of a 28-metre high central pavilion and two lateral pavilions which are three metres lower. Linked by tunnel-like passages, the pavilions contain different climatic zones: a ‘cold’ house to the north, a temperate zone in the central pavilion and a tropical climate in the south pavilion. / The Schönbrunn Palm House was the last of its type to be constructed in continental Europe. / / More information / Inside the Palm House: 360° panorama (have a look – quite impressive!)
I realize there are lots and lots of terrific Mother-In-Laws out there; however, this tee is for those that don’t have terrific ones! Or, for ones who have a great sense of humour! :)
I know its only a minor twist on an older piece , but what can I say ( I thought it was hysterical ) though when I spend 6 hours in my car driving and talking to myself , I find almost everything hysterical . Besides , its Saturday morning , you’re getting ready to go out and mow the lawn , and you notice brown patches all over your lush green landscape….. what do you do ? Blame the dog ? maybe you don’t have a dog …. blame the neighbor’s dog? or better yet , blame your crazy neighbor that likes to walk up and down the block in his boxers at night ( maybe he’s just crazy enough to pee on your lawn ! ) But does anyone ever look at the gnome ? Nope …. he sits there on your front lawn 24/7 and you never even give him a second thought ….. maybe he’s the one browning your lawn , maybe its a cry for attention , maybe he resents you for never bringing him a sandwich , maybe he’s annoyed that there aren’t any female gnomes in the neighborhood ….. or maybe he’s just plain Gnaughty !

Oxfam held a tea party in my mother’s grand garden. There were morris dancers jigging their bells and plates and plates of cucumber sandwiches. When the string quintet began to swing, Senor Fernando with cat-like balance, fluidity and grace, swept Miss Plunkett off her feet, strutting the Tango de Salon across the lawn, through the roses and down the agapantha avenue…
Nothing special, just some crocuses. But I love how people plant them so they come up randomly in a lawn, like a surprise visit from a good friend… As Is. Canon PowerShot S5 IS / Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/1600 / Av (Aperture Value) 3.5 / ISO Speed 80
Axel is finally doing some yard work and earning his kibble. I’d say it’s about time!

Even if they are stripping our shrubs of leaves, they are adorable! Here’s the whole family. Canon 40D, f6.3, 1/125, ISO 640, focal length 320mm. Featured in 300+ Go Long! group, August 2009 – thanks so much!!
Here’s the whole family lounging in the shade of our yard. The moose seem drawn to the shade, the lawn, and our bushes, probably in that order! Canon 40D, f 7.1, 1/100, focal length 120mm (that’s close for those of you who don’t have telephoto lenses).
Best View Larger! Feature in Live, Love and Dream group. / Feature in The Weekend Photographer group. / Feature in ImageWriting group. Taken at South Hill, Allis Hollow, PA. After leaving the township building I noticed this bicycle leaning against the maple tree and I had to take a picture of it. I thought it was cute. A detail from the participative artwork known as “Carhenge” and/or “Cadillac Ranch”. Consisting of ten Cadillacs (1949 – 1963) half-buried nose first in a line parallel to old Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle, this unique sight has been a roadside draw since 1974. At highway speeds the attraction is a one note symphony of West Texas quirkiness. Upon closer inspection the scene resolves into a riotous panoply of spray-painted grafitti bearing the names, greetings, artwork, and cryptic messages of previous passersby, who in the cumulative, have created a beautiful, primary-colored homage to the American psyche. This is a hand-held, 3-shot HDR, Pentax K20D, variable shutter @ F13, ISO 100, 28mm.

Now I have these four amazing girls who feel like sisters to me. What blessings!
