Anticipation rained down on the audience of friends, family, the neighbors cat and a teddy called Felix. They, apart from the cat and the…
I admit, I have had some ideas from watching too much television. / Take the Gran, for instance. She is based on the Mother on a BBC Wales show, ‘High Hopes’ (I’m not so sure if it’s on in Any other countries, should be though, it’s a right laugh). / And the first line was taken from a part my sister played for her end of year show exam in acting. / Anyroad, this is a short story called Dai Gi Bach, which is actually a Welsh folk song about two small dogs (which, in welsh, is dau gi bach). As you can tell, I am really proud that I can speak Welsh, aye. / Anyways, if you are bored, please read and comment this. I know it ain’t something of masterpiece status. I’m only sixteen, after all!!
Perfume so sweet, so loving and kind / Your breath, the very scent of life combined
look into me she says / moon struck and statue like / I, pale in your existence / pray in this starlit garden / spirit filled you…
I release them all; I surrender to all that my life can be now, in this present time, this world filled with love, joy, peace, and hope I…
A subtle scent / perfumes the air / whenever I begin to think of you. / It’s a sweet scent of jasmine / with a touch of cinnamon / and a bit …
I tried to make my thoughts seem real….
Brief days are most precious: / How we love them all.
Some of you will have followed the very sad events that played out on my dear friend Lavender Moon’s page over the weekend. It was a story of love and hope and struggle and loss. We were all touched by her compassion for a creature thrown into the world without the necessary equipment to survive, and yet who fought his hardest to make it through, and who liked nothing more than to be wrapped up in his towel and held. I was moved to write this poem: please don’t read it as “good” or in any way self-regarding; it’s just an effort to make some kind of “sense”, if that’s the right word, and to pay respects. If you want to know more, please visit Lavender Moon, from whose journal I took the title, and start somewhere in mid-May. Naturally, I am posting this with her knowledge and consent.
