Apophysis, for whatever reason, fractals done on a light background have always been among my favorites. I hope you enjoy this. ;-)
This was a gift from me to a good friend of mine, Tatiana.,,, aka 3DMirror on deviantART … that I had actually done in late July 2007. It was to celebrate 2 very important milestones in her life … her birthday, and to celebrate the day she took her Oath of Allegiance to the United States. Welcome Tatiana hon !!

Something a little minimal….. I love a minimalist abstract or fractal, there’s just something about them. And you just don’t see all that many minimalistic fractals. To me, fractals don’t always have to be a wild explosion of design and color, there’s a place for the subtle too. I love both ends of the spectrum,,, the fractals that shout & the fractals that whisper. As for this one, I tried to incorporate the negative space as part of the image itself, & not have it just hang there as a lifeless piece of the background. White can be even more unforgiving than black so I gave it a wash of color to soften it & bring it into the image even more. All critiques are more than welcome ! I’d definitely like to know how I can improve on this. You may have to look full screen to see the lines a little bit better, or maybe not. Depending on your screen, monitor & eyesight I guess ! ;-) Created with Apophysis. Lauren
Apophysis…. as always. I really am a fan of the light backgrounds in fractals, they can be hard to work with in as much as white is so much more unforgiving than black, but I really do like the etherealness … is that a word ? ;-) I really like the delicate look to the fractals. Though in this case, as Helene pointed out, the background picked up the color from the image itself & it’s no longer white but has indigo undertones to it which help to soften it even more.
Fare Thee Well Fare thee well love, Fare thee well love / Far away, you must go / Take my heart love,Take my heart love / We will never meet, again no more Far across love, Far across love / O’er the mountains and country wide / Take my heart love, Take my heart love / No one knows, the tears I’ve cried So I’ll drink today love, I’ll sing to you love / In paupers glory my time I’ll bide / No home or ties love, a restless rover / If I can’t have you, by my side Oh come back love, Oh come back love / The sun and moon refuse to shine / Since I’ve gone love, gone away love / This lonely girl has had no peace of mind So I’ll drink today love, I’ll sing to you love / In paupers glory my time I’ll bide / No home or ties love,a restless rover / If I can’t have you, by my side Fare thee well love, Fare thee well love / Far away, you must go / Take my heart love, Take my heart love / We will never meet, again no more The Rankin Family mage created with Apophysis.
This painting was inspired by a conversation that I had with a friend very dear to me, her name is Lauren. I was much better at making her smile with a picture than I was with words. The painting is in oil on a 18×24 canvas.
I will be offering this for sale as soon as I can get the resizing down correctly, until then this will be included in my portfolio. Apophysis 2.08

For my good friend Rich, who had requested one last fractal before the end of 2008….. this was originally posted on Caedes.net December 30th. I hope everyone has a New Year filled with love and laughter and the joy of being with friends.
