A latch on an old railway carriage used to house turkeys on a Cornish farm. The texture caught my eye

I loved the colour and texture of this old suitcase that I spotted in Bo’Ness Railway station in Scotland. Bo’Ness is a small town on the banks of the River Forth which is home to a very well preserved steam railway. The old station has been extremely well preserved as an early 20th century train station. This photograph won 1st prize in Stirling and District Camera Club’s Annual Print competition for 2008.
Love the new lock and the old latch together in this one.
Port-a-Potty at the end of a rainbow.
another DIY job needing tended to … green paint required :-)
This window of a cute little thatched cottage in Dongeal speaks volumes to me. Cosy, family, music, dancing, community, leaving the latch off, sharing, time to talk, the kettle always on the boil, griddle bread, tall people who have to lower themselves to enter the house, big families….......................... and so on!

An occupational hazzard associated with being the official photographer for the RSPCA WA! This little guy’s sole agenda was to jump at me and latch onto whatever he could. In this case it was the leg of my jeans, but he also had a good chew on my hand, camera strap and even a 50mm lens! This puppy was re-homed the day this shot was taken. Profit portion of any sales will go to the RSPCA WA. Taken with a Canon 5D and 50mm prime lens @ f1.8, ISO 1000, 1/400th sec, handheld. Featured in Canon DSLR Group Feb 2009. Featured in Workshop Camera Club June 2009. Placed in top 10 (9th) in Paws ‘n’ claws Dog Profile Challenge, August 2009.
Long before America became the land of round doorknobs, the LATCH DOOR was a common door atire, brought here from those that came from Germany and other countries. TODAY Americans have forgotten “how” entrance is made and so the doors carry a sign with instructions of “how” to open!
a close up of the latch of the Old Barn Door – it still works!

This is the main door Lock and Latch at Wimborne Minster, Wimborne, Dorset. / I think the B&W looks better, but below you will see the colour version. / What is your preference? Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking.
Wooden jewellery box with golden latch. Shot taken next to lamp light, I loved the warm tones. Last (maybe) in the series, just really loved the particular kind of warm light that this lamp gives off. Straight from camera / Camera – Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 FEATURED IN – ‘Domestic Art’ and ‘Photography 101’ Groups I took a series of shots by the same lamp light, shown below:
