One of my personal favorites. This picture taken in a rodeo (during the lasso tournament) in the south of Brazil. The cowboys are called “gauchos”, and this one is dressed typically. This type of large trousers are called “bombachas”. Captured at 300mm in negative film and then scanned.
This is near my twin brother’s place in Colorado, USA. It’s so wild west I love it!

This Dustin Roush from Gillette, Wyoming. Dustin posed for Leigh and I in July of 2006 at the DC Bar Guest Ranch, my friend’s ranch in Pinedale, Wyoming. Dustin and his family operate a very large beef cattle ranch in Gillette. Dustin was completing “guide school” classes so he can work as a licensed guide in the state. Dustin is a “master” with a lasso. He was giving lessons to all the other students. What a great kid he is as well as a pure gentleman. BTW, all the girls love this “blue eyed Kid!” / Here are links to my art: WESTERN ART WESTERN ART WESTERN DECOR

Sparkling eyes lit up as this young man started to show me how to Lasso! He was talented indeed! I didn’t have the guts to ask him if I could try it and it probably was a good thing! This picture was taken during the reenactment of California Gold Rush Days, located in Old Town Sacramento, California.
These photgraphs were taken during the reenactment of the California Gold Rush in Old Town Sacramento. Sitting ten feet up in the air, on the horse drawn wagon featured in January, I was able to get shots that gave me a whole new perspective of California history that has been lovingingly restored and acted out. Here you will see horse drawn wagons, gun battles, actors and you were experiencing a taste of the wild, wild west. Enjoy!

Caught this cowboy as he was leaping off his horse to go tie down a calf. My first time ever at a rodeo, let alone first time ever shooting one. Canon Rebel XT w/ Canon 75-300mm lens Kissimmee, FL / Silver Spurs Rodeo / Event: Tie-Down (Calf) Roping
My boyfriend spotted this beautiful black and white paint first, and fell in love with him. Very nice horse. Managed to get the cowboy getting the kinks out of the lasso. One of a few ‘money shots’ of the day lol :o) My first time ever at a rodeo, let alone first time ever shooting one. This beautiful and much loved puppy was having morning tea at Urban Grind coffee shop with his ‘mum’ Alois, so I asked if I could take some photos. both his ‘parents’ and I are thrilled with the results. They have also given me permission to upload these photos, provided I share my ‘millions’ in profits with them. I think that is fair! I hope they enjoy these photos as much as I do. Thank you Alois and Noel! / I edited the background in photoshop to enhance the portrait. I used the smudge tool, reduced to 1 pixel and with the photo enlarged up to 200% to flick the hairs out on the sides of his ears, face and neck so that it didn’t have the sharp cut off edge that is usual with a background removal. taken with my canon 40DSLR macro lens on a manual settingff edge that is usual with a background removal. taken with my canon 40DSLR macro lens on a manual setting / fstop 5.6 / exposure 1/200 sec / focal length 100mm / Automatic white balance
