“The eyes of this friendly horse captivated me. Keeping a short distance from my face, he looked at me intently with an inquiring eye. The afternoon sunlight was golden and bathed his coat in a sheer layer. The mane flew softly around his pretty face while he demanded to be given a carrot with steady hoof stamps in front of me. / / I had no carrots, yet a friendly pat on his velvety muzzle earnt me a swift amicable slurp from his soft lips. Do not ask me how she stood still long enough for me to catch this but she did and I am so excited with the result!! A tiny drop of water on my 4 year old daughters eyelashes…you can see the park log and green bushes in the reflection(although it is upside down as reflections do that). She sat perfectly still while I got about a dozen shots and this one was the nicest:) / Raindrops keep fallin on my head!hehehe / Canon 500D / Sigma 70mm Macro with extension tubes / On camera flash / f/00 / 1/250 / WB sunlight

In this work I tried to capture the reflective shadows in the eyes and create as much detail as possible without adding too much…white cartridge paper.
