  • My Lantanas are finally in bloom out back. I took a photo, used the Redfield Fractalius Plugin, used Selective Coloring and pushed the color into lines. /

  • Another Painted Lady butterfly! This is obviously the outside of her wing, which is duller and mostly browny colours, but the sun was shining through it, highlighting the colours from the inside. Nikon D40 18-55mm with screw +4 & +2 filters.

  • The tiny pearl crescent butterfly is a little gem; it flits away nervously, but every now and then, it settles down sedately and allows some human intrusion into its space. I had such a moment when this tiny beauty landed on lantana for a sweet sip.

  • This is another shot of one of the beautiful Swallowtails that visit the Lantana on a reg. basis. These majestic creatures offer me so much enjoyment. I’m always looking out the kitchen window to see what the Lantana has to offer besides the beauty of the flower itself and I am rarely disappointed! I would highly reccomend this flower for anybody wishing to attract any kind of butterfly. BEST VIEWED LARGER!
