I saw a similar image (photo I think) some years ago and it has stuck with me since. My love of trees in particular comes from growing up in South Australia where the Mighty Red River Gums are a feaure in the environs. My thanks to the unknown photographer – if that was the source – I have changed it a little for this painting but the message to me was to bend a little as life buffets you and you to will be an formed onto an interesting person with character and your own style rather than staying rigid and pursuing societies “perfection”.

This is a night shot of the fabulous Art Deco dental hospital in Sydney and its right next to Cental station in the centre of the city. The building is an amazingly consituted triangular shape and the very edge is all glass bricks. At night its like a beacon in an other wise pretty rundown and very gritty older part of the city. The Red Bridge completed in 1838, is the oldest bridge on the National Highway. The bricks (more than one and a half million) were made in the town itself. Convict-built to a European design it has needed very little repair work over the years and now carries well over a two million vehicles a year. For those visiting Australia and the state of Tasmania this bridge is located in the township of Campbelltown, the town has accomodation in the form of hotels and bed and breakfasts.
