A wonderful little store full of nostalgia, tucked away in quiet little town. / I could look at the pictures and signs for hours here.
Silence Lane / I love cemeteries. / For some people, cemeteries are places of dread. For me, they are places of wonderful quiet and peace. A place of resting, whatever your religion, if any. Memories wrapped in stone and tree shadows. A place to reflect, and wonder about life. Perhaps our lives are just perfect – loved ones all around, financial independence; maybe fame and fortune. / In the end, we all wind up here. / / One life, one chance to feel good about it. / My rules for photography and art are very simple – I like it, or I don’t… / / Thanks for visiting my folio :) / I certainly appreciate your taking time to view what I’ve been up to, and enjoy reading your comments. / / / / Writings (or ramblings) / Come, Dark / Chandelier Brain / Eat Me / The 10th / You’re Strange, Rick / Ever-Queen / Sleeping / Beauty / The Black, White & Grey / / / / Hope / / / One / / / Reap what you Sow / / / Trust / / / Directions / / / Unconditional Love / / / The Long Road / / / Silence Lane

Sold 2 poster prints October 2008 / Am I allowed to do this? Had to do it, While I had to get up at 0245GMT for work and drive my trains, my wife Donna, went on a church walk with the boys as well to Elterwater in the English lake district and she took my pride and joy, only cause I know she has the eye! and she helps me bin the rubbish shots I have taken, she’s learnt from me and yes I was sweating that she took my camera, so this is one of her shots, I processed it in HDR style to get the most detail, I am pretty proud of her, I think she has done a great job of this shot, no cropping whatsoever, well spotted, well I am congratulating her anyway.here’s Donnas shot. / Shot with a Nikon D70s and 18-70mm lens / /
This is a wonderful part of a circular walk I did, the sun was flickering through the branches, insisting that I took the shot … I hope that I have added an atmosphere that you like ….... / . / Photoshop CS3 / PhotoArtMaster / . / Abbeycymhir / Mid Wales UK / . / Copyright 2008 Richie Dean

It is fascinating to see the different colours at the moment here in the centre of the Netherlands. While some trees already show their full autumnal beauty, others still keep very much their green appearance. But on this beautiful beech-tree lane near Maartensdijk, autumn is clearly on its way. Taken near Anakie on a misty morning.
Went on a little stroll around the city today to shoot a couple of laneways with Flamegirl for Laneway Magazine who requested some shots of this little spot. This is the same lane as shot in my Hosier Lane but up the other end facing the other way :D I’ve been using HDR sparingly lately but it helps to bring out so much character in these laneways that I simply can’t resist. This is also one of my first goes experimenting with the square format too! / Settings Canon 5D, 17-40mm f4 L USM. These ancient back street walls near Campo di Fiori have so many stories to whisper. Digital painting
Another one of Melbourne’s magical lane ways. This one runs between Bourke Street and Little Bourke Street. I love the industrial urban grunge this one has. The graffiti on the bin in the foreground reads COOKIE, as the building at the end of the lane way is The Curtain House, a multi level building housing Cookie, The Toff In Town and the Rooftop Bar & Cinema (in summer). This particular lane had a dark feeling to it. Although not overly dirty or strewn with rubbish, I could imagine the underbelly of Melbourne meeting here for some illegal operation. Do we have assassins in Melbourne? If we do, I’m sure this would be the perfect crime scene! A shot taken on my last bike trip on that wonderful misty morning of Sunday 27th September to the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn. This is the same lane where I met the girl with the golden hair some moments later. Many of you will understand that this picture has got a completely new meaning for me in the last three days. I could have chosen a shot with light at the end of the tunnel. And I am pretty sure that there will be light at the end of my present tunnel. So many of you here on RB and also on devArt have written and confirmed that there is a good prospect for continuing my beloved photographic activities after the forthcoming operation. Ever so many thanks to them here too. Still this shot appeals more to me today. The feeling at the moment is one of going from the light to an uncertain future. But I shall venture into that mist. Indeed I am sure there is a lot of good to win by going on. Groeneveld, 27th September 2009, 9.23 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 62 mm / F 13, 1/30, ISO 200
