First snow this year Photo made in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands – Crown Domain Het Loo Where I live, the snow didn’t stay longer than a few minutes, so I had to travel a few hours to make these pics… The public transport was all messed up because of the first winter-weather, but brought me finally into winter-wonderland… I think this journey was well worth the effort :) ... There will be times when you will be in / the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset / or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. / Don’t be bitter because you can’t record it. / Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!
When I am an old horsewoman / I shall wear turquoise and diamonds, / And a straw hat that doesn’t suit me / And I shall spend my social security on / white wine and carrots, / And sit in my alleyway of my barn / And listen to my horses breathe. I will sneak out in the middle of a summer night / And ride the old bay gelding, / Across the moonstruck meadow / If my old bones will allow / And when people come to call, I will smile and nod / As I walk past the gardens to the barn / and show instead the flowers growing / inside stalls fresh-lined with straw. I will shovel and sweat and wear hay in my hair / as if it were a jewel / And I will be an embarrassment to all / Who will not yet have found the peace in being free / to have a horse as a best friend / A friend who waits at midnight hour / With muzzle and nicker and patient eyes / For the kind of woman I will be / When I am old.
Some days the sun consoles my fears / And lifts the wetness of my tears / Some nights the stars and moon embrace / The sorrow written on my face
When things go wrong as they sometimes will, / When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, / When funds are low and the debts are high, / And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. / When care is pressing you down a bit. / Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit. / Life is queer with its twists and turns / As every one of us sometimes learns. / And many a failure turns about / When he might have won had he stuck it out: / Don’t give up though the pace seems slow - / You may succeed with another blow. / Success is failure turned inside out - / The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. / And you never can tell how close you are. / It may be near when it seems so far: / So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit / It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit. Impressionist, Painterly. / The tender kiss is a wonderful feeling. / Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

“One must have a mind of winter / To regard the frost and boughs / Of the pine-trees crusted with snow; / And have been cold a long time / To behold the junipers shagged with ice, / The spruces rough in the distant glitter / Of the January sun; and not to think / Of any misery in the sound of the wind, / In the sound of a few leaves.” excerpt…Wallace Stevens Watercolour on Arches Not Paper / Baby It’s Cold Outside / The First Day / C’est L’hiver / Winter Landscape…The Bothy / Winter…After The Storm
