My first ever post to redbubble!! A really lucky capture of Loch Voil near Balquidder (Rob Roy country) in Scotland. This is a collaboration between my daughter, Brianna (13), and myself. :) She’s a fantastic photographer for her age..she amazes me much of the time. She showed me this photo that she took, and I begged her to let me work on it. :) (yes…I had to beg! Teenagers..ya know?) Have you ever looked at something and thought ahhh a capture some day. Today was the day of the first attempt. It was a freaking blizzard out. High winds out in the country in my area the farmers call windswept. I headed into town for brunch at the pub. The roads were clear if you call two feet of snow in the good parts clear. High winds.. no courage to go to the tree. So after a good brunch and a few shots of whiskey neat style. I came back home.. I felt daring. Pushing snow with a big four wheel drive truck I went. There it was.. I fell in love. Out in the winds with the snow blowing hard I set the camera on a bean bag my wife made me for this purpose. Focus , Light , Frame, Oh God please.. Here is the first one. Maybe more. When a new sky appears.. storms or sunset we shall see.. I hope you find it in your heart to view large. The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. However, when it is full, it is a beautiful shade of blue. The lake gets its color from the refraction of light off the rock flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis. Recently Featured in / / A Place Called Home Though I come from Scotland, I’m most at home on the riverbank. I just love places like this in Devon UK, where you can walk peacefully along, listening to the birds and the rippling of the water, the magical light as it streams through the leaves and lights just a small portion of your pathway. Amazing sounds and smells too, especially after rain on a warm day. So earthy…. Yes, I feel at home along the riverbank:-) Sold A Card on Wed 22nd of April 2009. After an operation to remove skin cancer from my forehead. Ouch! that was really painful, but the sale brought a smile to my face, and that hurt again:-) LOL. I love the way the light shines on the pathway by the riverside and in the distant trees. It reminded me of how God directs us through life, He chooses not to illuminate the whole of our lives, but to direct us little by little bit by bit, so that our trust in in Him alone. The verse of Scripture that sprang to mind was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. You can trust God’s Word to guide you through life. Hope you enjoy; A Light unto my path.
