I was inspired this morning after reading and commenting on Julie Langford’s Post. It made me remember that sometimes the journey – the people you meet, the things you learn along the way – is more important than the destination. So despite the bitter frosty morning I rugged myself up (two thermals are better than one) and set out to greet nature and the day with Sami and my trusty tripod in tow. Turns out The Day had advance warning from Nature that I was coming (I think it was the blue wren who visits me that let the secret out)... and together they turned on an absolutely gorgeous – albeit bloody freezing – show. This is most likely the easiest image I have ever had in post production, the only enhancement it has had is a slight vignette added. For the mist gently rising off the water… the glorious colour… the frost on the reeds… the delicate reflections… the beautiful ray of illuminating light… I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Nature and The Day. A Light Unto My Path My Magical Place / Captured in Plymbridge Woods Dartmoor. / Camera: Nikon D40×18-55mm Kit Lense. Recently Featured in / / A Place Called Home Though I come from Scotland, I’m most at home on the riverbank. I just love places like this in Devon UK, where you can walk peacefully along, listening to the birds and the rippling of the water, the magical light as it streams through the leaves and lights just a small portion of your pathway. Amazing sounds and smells too, especially after rain on a warm day. So earthy…. Yes, I feel at home along the riverbank:-) Sold A Card on Wed 22nd of April 2009. After an operation to remove skin cancer from my forehead. Ouch! that was really painful, but the sale brought a smile to my face, and that hurt again:-) LOL. I love the way the light shines on the pathway by the riverside and in the distant trees. It reminded me of how God directs us through life, He chooses not to illuminate the whole of our lives, but to direct us little by little bit by bit, so that our trust in in Him alone. The verse of Scripture that sprang to mind was, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. You can trust God’s Word to guide you through life. Hope you enjoy; A Light unto my path.

WHat particularly drew me to this scene were the patterns of light and shadow on the rocks and leaves. Taken on an Autumn afternoon in Jacob’s Fork River, South Mountain State Park, NC. Figuring out a way to get from one slippery and mossy rock to another in order to take the photo was a real challenge too-especially carrying tripod and camera equipment. / Nikon D50, 42mm,F22 ,2 sec / /

“Clouds on the Water, Fire Near the Sky” / Purchase a Mouse Pad of this image I happened onto this gorgeous sunrise over the White River at a time when the water was at its lowest. I was delighted to catch the calm surface for reflections, as the low rising sun was casting its first orange glow over the autumn colors.
