Elowah falls tumbles some 200+ feet to the floor of the Columbia River Gorge. Taken on a rainy misty day in January. I never seen that much water coming over the falls.
A bit of sneaker wave caught me by surprise as it suddenly swept over the 2 rocks in front of me as the tides came in at sunset near Ecola Beach. Terrible Tillie, also know as the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse hides on the horizon
A trio of boulders on Indian Beach surrounded by the seas of the incoming tide as the sun sets over the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. I arrived with another photographer to catch the sunset. It was raining, he left while I slipped on my rainjacket and was able to catch the spetacular colors of this sunset.
For those of us tired of Winter and grey foggy days a bit of Spring color to brighten your day. A meadow filled with Lupine and balsamroot glows with color under the setting sun from the Rowena Plateau looking North across the Columbia River to the hills of Washington Off to a Photographers meeting , be back later!
I was very lucky to be on the Oregon coast when the moon set before the sun rose. The only light was provided by the moon and the required long exposures also provided the silky effect on the water.
A seastack along the Oregon coast near Bandon with just enough sunset color to resemble a Halo ringing the top of this jagged rock spire on the beach near Face Rock.
A cirrus cloud drifts over Mt. Hood in Oregon as the last light of a summer day hits the peak.

I took this photo on 07/13/06 on a vacation with my husband; we began in Redding, CA went over to the Northern CA coast and headed north…. went clear up to Tillamook, Oregon. We followed the shoreline all the way, on this wonderfully scenic trip. This is just one of many images which I am pleased to be able to share; I hope you enjoy….. / / / ___ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. I may or may not have titled this after James Lapine’s Into the Woods for lack of originality ;) Taken on the way back from the Japanese Gardens yesterday. Due to the fact that it was pouring, I had to take it while driving. It was a bit dark and overcast, hence the 800 ISO.

These two seastacks just south of Haystack rock are known as the “Haystack Needles.” This picture was taken just as the sun dipped beneath the horizon. As the tide retreated and left a thin layer of water, I was able to capture this reflection in the beach. Cannon Beach, a city in Clatsop County, Oregon, United States, is an tourist resort destination, popular in Pacific Northwest located on highway 101. In 1846, a cannon from the US Navy schooner Shark washed ashore just north of Arch Cape, a few miles to the south of Elk Creek, the current Cannon Beach. The schooner was wrecked while attempting to cross the Columbia Bar, also known as the “Graveyard of the Pacific” because of the danger of the bar. The beach was renamed “Cannon Beach.”

Another from this fabulous little creek in Oregon’s Willamette National Forest. One of my beliefs about photographing places is that it takes time to know a place and see it thru seasons and the light of different times of day. Pentax *istDs Homepage feature on Sept 11:

This image of my wife and daughter was the only print in history to score a perfect “100” score from all juges at the “PPof O” and “PPof A” print competition. The print was also slected to be displayed in the International Traveling Loan Collection, the “Epcot Center” and “The International Professional Photographers Hall of Fame” exhibit. I can vividly remember hyper ventalating and almost passing out when I saw the print scores being displayed during judging. The highlight of my photography career.
