Taken on a section of the Great Wall of China between Jinshanling and Simatai. In the distance you can see the wall rising steeply up over the mountains at Simatai. This got accepted into the ADPA competition in 2007.

A bright yellow reed frog in a sea of green in the Kilombero floodplain, Tanzania. Not hard to spot once you got your eye in!

One of many frozen Willow trees lining the edge of Lake Wanaka, waiting for the dawn’s first light to warm them for a new day. At first I was disappointed not being able to see the lake and the mountains due to the heavy fog on the water. That soon changed!

I found this unique looking plant at a park in San Francisco (Golden Gate Park, to be exact). I love not only the symmetry but the geometry of this plant and it’s uniqueness because I’ve never seen anything else like this. This photo was asked to be used in as the cover of a children’s science book in South America. I didn’t use any Photoshop at all on this image. Just a tiny bit of Picasa! The plant is the same color as it appears in real life.

The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. This was a waterfall I found in an outside mall and luckily for me I had my camera with me. It was quite busy so I had to take a photo fast but long enough to get some exposure. No tripod, but only a rock to steady the camera. Whew, it is great when it looks half way decent.
