A large formation of Lava rock off the coast of Kihei on Maui, Hawaii turned into a boiling sinking cauldron by the rising tides flowing in from above and below. The water level on this cauldron would rise and fall as much as 6 feet with the ebb and flow of the waves. I was fascinated by this marvel of nature and creation.

For most of us this is poverty and unhealthy living. I took the shot not to promote or ask for any donation because I believe that they are luckier then us. Being one with nature, far from political pollution, air pollution, recognition, greediness and ambition were many of us suffer from. They are simpler then us in every aspect. No mortgage , no stress and no burdens. I shot this at G-Land, South-East Java, Indonesia in 1999. This image won me “Best Lifestyle Shot” award, Surfing World Magazine, 2003/04.

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

/ “Hibiscus Morning” is part of the Tropics Collection...mornings on the island, the Hibiscus opens early…breakfast on the terrace with the warmth of the sun, feels so luxurious with all the blossoms cascading down, in their multitudinous shades of brilliant colour ... Watercolour on Arches Hot Pressed Paper… Sequestered in their wiry pods, / the hibiscus opened last night after a long silence. / While we mimicked stones in our shared bed, / the big lusty blooms burst into being, / half-human and full as the moon.
