After The High Country Oasis, and the trail from Red Peak pass; this was our destination Red Lake. It’s really called Red Devil Lake, but I don’t think something so beautiful should be titled as such. So I just call it “Red Lake” This was our destination after 9 + hours of hiking. / Yosemite /
The trail is on the right. Aren’t the colors of the river amazing ! / The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne is the portion of the valley of the Tuolumne River in Yosemite National Park. As defined by the United States Geological Survey, it begins immediately below Tuolumne Meadows and ends immediately above Hetch Hetchy Valley. / The Tuolumne River runs as a somewhat wavy line from east to west. It originates in the high-altitude flatlands of Tuolumne Meadows, just west of the Sierra Nevada’s main divide.

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains! ~John Muir I wanted to upload this for 2 reasons: First, SueAnne is going to Yosemite this winter. SueAnne you will love it! It truly is a winter wonderland. I’ll post a couple pictures of Badger Pass for you soon. Which is Yosemite’s secret place to ski. Secret because there are no lines and Oh it is soooooo amazingly beautiful! Second I wanted to start fresh after my September trip and wanted to get some pic’s up before then.

May Lake. Yosemite. / / My answer to question 48: / What song do you want played at your funeral? / Elvis Presley’s version :) Amazing grace! / How sweet the sound / That saved a wretch like me! / I once was lost, but now am found; / Was blind, but now I see. / ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, / And grace my fears relieved; / How precious did that grace appear / The hour I first believed. / / Through many dangers, toils and snares, / I have already come; / ‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, / And grace will lead me home. / / The Lord has promised good to me, / His word my hope secures; / He will my shield and portion be, / As long as life endures. / / Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, / And mortal life shall cease, / I shall possess, within the veil, / A life of joy and peace. / / The world shall soon dissolve like snow, / The sun refuse to shine; / But God, who called me here below, / Shall be forever mine. / / When we’ve been there ten thousand years, / Bright shining as the sun, / We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise / Than when we’d first begun. / / Peter Gabriel: / “You can blow out a candle / But you can’t blow out a fire / Once the flames begin to catch / The wind will blow it higher”

Upper Yosemite Fall as seen from across one of the meadows in early spring. Yosemite National Park, California, is perhaps the world’s best known example of a glacier-carved canyon. Yosemite’s giant waterfalls, towering cliffs, rounded domes, and massive monoliths make it a natural marvel and one of the most visited places on Earth. Yosemite National Park is located in California’s Eastern Sierras. It is comprised of Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, Glacier Point, and other high country wilderness areas. One of the main attractions of Yosemite are its majestic waterfalls. The main falls are Yosemite, Bridalveil, Vernal, Nevada, and Illilouette. The best time to visit the falls is in May since the water is gushing. Bridalveil usually has a neat rainbow in the afternoon.
“As long as I live, I’ll hear waterfalls and birds and winds sing. I’ll interpret the rocks, learn the language of flood, storm, and the avalanche. I’ll acquaint myself with the glaciers and wild gardens, and get as near the heart of the world as I can.” — from The Journals of John Muir
The Ritter Range as the sun sets! David Bowie / Queen – Under Pressure Lyrics Give love, give love, give love, give love, give love / ‘Cause love’s such an old fashioned word / And love dares you to care for / The people on the edge of the night / And loves dares you to change our way of / Caring about ourselves
