  • Homeward bound from my time out bush, I saw this windmill standing alone and proud in a sea of gold.

  • Fine rain falls over green rolling farm lands in the Southern Flinders Ranges. / As I travel along my eyes constantly scan the landscape looking for photo oportunities. / As was case here Iwhenshooting in the rain…drove my 4wd up over an embankment and framed the image by positioning the 4wd…I then wound down the window and shot this horizontal image,up with window to wipe the lens dry and then a vertical followed. I have lost count of the times I have used this technique to great advantage.

  • Rain falls on dry sunburnt fields in rural landscape with skimming sunlight forming two rainbows of colour.

  • Windfarm at Keithley Moor Yorkshire seconds before the light vanished.

  • “Homeward Bound” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A cattle property at Marlborough, Queensland “Bind me not to the pasture, chain me not to the plow. / Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow. / If you find it me you’re missing, if you’re hoping I’ll return. / To your thoughts I’ll soon be listening, and on the road I’ll stop and turn. / Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end. / And the path I’ll be retracing when I’m homeward bound again.” / ~ Kaelyn Archer

  • Husett Mill on the Norfolk Broads, England.

  • I created this image this afternoon in attempt to combat a bout of the blahs and a lack of inspiration. Because I really liked how my last Forgotten Postcard worked out, I thought I’d try to continue the series. This image was taken back in February, on a grey day, at Kinderdijk in the Netherlands. The windmills of Kinderdijk are one of the best known Dutch tourist sites. They were placed on the list of UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997. Like me, the original image needed a bit of perking up. I hope you like the results.

  • Thurne Mill in The Norfolk Broads, just after a rainstorm

  • Thurne Mill, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads.

  • The road to cloud nine, where our new attitude energy is supposed to come from.

  • ....am feeling very reflective today and wistful in the windmills of my mind.vaultz ...inspired by ” El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha ”.... First quest.. / He decides to go out as a knight-errant in search of adventure. He dons an old suit of armor, renames himself “Don Quixote de la Mancha,” and names his skinny horse “Rocinante.” He designates a neighboring farm girl, Aldonza Lorenzo, as his lady love, renaming her Dulcinea del Toboso, while she knows nothing about this. Eventually, he “acquires” his iconic “helmet.”....a first experimental digital enhancement of my painting ‘La Mancha’ after the Master ‘Claude Monet’.......using Redfield fractallius plug-in…I should get shares in this lol!.

  • My Website Bless the Broken Road I set out on a narrow way, many years ago / Hoping I would find true love along the broken road / But I got lost a time or two / Wiped my brow and kept pushing through / I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you Every long lost dream led me to where you are / Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars / Pointing me on my way into your loving arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you / Yes He did I think about the years I spent, just passing through / I’d like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you / But you just smile and take my hand / You’ve been there, you understand / It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true Every long lost dream led me to where you are / Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars / Pointing me on my way into your loving arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you But now I’m just rolling home into my lover’s arms / This much I know is true That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you That God blessed the broken road / That led me straight to you Rascall Flats

  • Sounds of Then / (This is Australia) I think I hear the sounds of then, / And people talking, / The scenes recalled, by minute movement, / And songs they fall, from the backing tape. / That certain texture, that certain smell, To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room, of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings home the heavy days, / Brings home the the night time swell, Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. The block is awkward – it faces west, / With long diagonals, sloping too. / And in the distance, through the heat haze, / In convoys of silence the cattle graze. / That certain texture, that certain beat, / Brings forth the night time heat. Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think that this is Australia. To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings forth the heavy days, / Brings forth the night time sweat / Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. / This is Australia….......
