While on a sunset harbour cruise in Lunenburg, NS there was a man in a small boat rowing across the harbour with his dog aboard. ____________ Check out more of my art from these categories: / Holiday Cards / Abstracts / Sketches / Birds / Seascapes/Landscapes/Sunsets / _____________ /

One of my first shots from my new Canon 1ds Mark II. I find shooting towards the sun on a clear day gives unflattering light (especially on digital). So I decided to go more for a composition than an open landscape.

One of my new digital stitches using 5 images. This is one of the first images I have taken without shooting with my film camera as a backup. I’m happy with the final result but still some more fine tuning to do. 5 image stitch 24mm on 24-70mm f2.8 lens, Canon 1ds Mark II. Shutter at 1/15 sec F11, .9 and .6 Lee Filter Soft Grad ND filter stacked. / 360 precision head.

Sunset at Warners Bay / Lake Macquarie NSW Australia

When I woke up before dawn and found myself wondering along the shore with a camera a tripod, this was precisely the image I was after. The boat reminded me of the frailties of our existence, all alone, stranded at low tide, unable to float around with any dignity with the ominous clouds closing in on it’s steel hull. Yet it stood proud and tall, living each day as it came at the mercy of nature and the elements around it.

This is another image from the Peggy’s Cove collection. I’m hoping (probably in vain) that this perspective hasn’t been shot all that often as i don’t like repeating someone else’s work. I don’t recall seeing this small village portrayed this way but that could just be that I missed it. I really love how this shot turned out and I hope you do too!

This is a result of 4 seperate hdr images so you could say it’s 12 images in one. They were merged using photomerge in photoshop cs3. I wanted to capture this tunnel differently to how i had usually seen it all over the net Click here for my other images of Melbourne

By Darren Stones – Freelance Photojournalist / Subscribe via RSS/Atom Australia is blessed with pristine beaches and coastal scenery that is to die for. My Sapphire Coast slideshow on YouTube can be found here The Sapphire Coast, located south of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia remains virtually untouched from development. Bermagui – Horseshoe Bay If you enjoy investigating national parks, love to wet a line, want to improve your suntan, sip a coffee by the sea, or catch a wave, then the Sapphire Coast is for you. Tathra Wharf Witness the unloading of the catch-of-the-day, visit a winery, taste award-winning cheeses, grab a bargain at a market, attend a festival, indulge in delectable oysters, go whale watching and take in some of the local history. Merimbula – Long Point The towns of Bermagui, Tathra, Bega, Merimbula, Pambula and Eden all have that bit of sapphire magic. Eden – Seaside Pool If you are looking for that get-away-from-it-all experience then let yourself go. One of the things I love about Sydney Harbour – apart from the obvious icons – is the fact that you don’t have to wander very far,and you’ll find someone kicking back, dangling a line, in the hope of catching a fish. Always seems quite a strange but wonderful contradiction somehow. / Taken towards McMahons Point mid January 2008. / Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM
