Original in private collection Watercolor on Arches 140# Hot Press paper. 18”W x 19 1/2”H This is an interpretation of a busy street scene on a rainy day in Chicago based upon a photo I took years ago. I have always wanted to paint the scene and finally put the brush to paper. It was a challenge to portray the light of a rainy day and the reflections on wet cobblestones but I was really pleased with the outcome and it has become one of my favorites. 220 views so far..this was our Pub ‘The Langley Wherry Inn’ Norfolk UK, we used to run & had lots of fun lol! ..it’s an11th century coaching Inn & the Abbey across the way has 14 Knights buried upside down in the grounds(apparently they buried them like that so they were ready?) ...anyway there was an old tale of a tunnel from the pub to the abbey the smugglers used from the Dyke off of the river Yare…well I never found it but know there were plenty of ghosts woohoo lol! watercolour/gouache on hot pressed paper …original is sold. ... .. ...
