Taken at Anderson Ranch Reservoir, although the sun was not where it seems to be, this really was an illusion. I had to get out and catch this shot. I love this lake and this place. When we lived here my camera was with me at all times, even when I went down for groceries, you never knew what you might see on the way down or back up. I love it here and it will always be home for me in my heart. Exposure time 1/160 sec., / F-Stop F/4.0, Aperture Value F/2.0, ISO 64.0. Canon EOS, Rebel XT, Lens 18-55 mm.

Taken on a very cold day at White Point Beach, Nova Scotia Canada. My then Fiancee now wife wrote this in the wet sand, and I took the shot. I thought this might make a nice Valentine’s Day card. This image has taken on new meaning for me now. My Mother had been in the hospital for a little over a week. We knew she was on her deathbed. She had suffered for many years with a number of serious chronic health issues, the most debilitating being COPD – a chronic lung disease which had her housebound and connected to oxygen 24-7. Well this morning (Feb. 15, 2009) she passed away peacefully. The reason this image is special to me now is that it was featured on the Homepage here on RedBubble just hours before she passed away. In my heart I feel that she had something to do with it. This was her way of telling me she loves me for one last time since this image prominently features the words “I LOVE YOU” in the sand. This shot was taken in The Water Run on the Coastal Walk in Royal NP just south of Sydney Australia. It was a wild and stormy evening and the sun just started to emerge from the clouds behind me as it was setting. The blue tint to the water comes for a very short period around sunset – you can just see it in any moving water at this time in the right light but the camera really picks it up. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/6sec / Av: f/13 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm

I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy when I was 19, this was taken as just a naive snap happy photo on my dodgy old-school camera and I’ve cleaned it up and added some oomph in photoshop. (It’s better if you click on the image to see a larger view)

Taken in the late winter/early spring of 2005 with a Canon A75 at a boardwalk in the town of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac, Québec, CANADA. The white expanse of snow visible beyond the trees is the frozen snow-covered Lake of Two Mountains. Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. This was taken at a dam in Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills, Australia in winter at dawn. We don’t get any snow in Adelaide, as our summers are very hot. There is still some fog around on the water. This is pure bliss to me. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, on a tripod. This was taken because of the mood created with the fog, the winter sunlight lighting up the boat and the 3 waterfowl swimming in the opposite direction to the boat.

It was blowing a gale while taking these photos, there was lighting strikes to the far right of the picture, but I wasn’ able to capture any. I didn’t think any of these would turn out any good considering the conditions, so it was a nice suprise to come away with some nice shots. not long after this was taken it started to rain and the people fishing and myself made a mad dash for our cars. all in all a fun afternoon.

Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper – 70cm x 50cm This is the Howqua River near Sheepyard Flat, not far from Mansfield in northern Victoria. Peter, my husband, and I had the most wonderful camping trip here a couple of years ago which resulted in several paintings. I have been yearning to return ever since! This is my favourite time of day for artwork – late afternoon/early evening!
