  • Kawhia is home to two sacred trees. Legend has it the first waka carrying Tainui people from Hawaiiki was tied to one of them 800 years ago, and a Maori princess bedded down in a cave beneath the other. But local iwi disagree on which honour belongs to which tree. My husband noticed me working on this shot and said excitedly ‘That’s the pohutukawa the first waka came to”. Nice, now it’s a bit more than just another landscape shot to me :) 300+ views People/Portraiture HDR Photography Macro Photography Architecture Collaborations Skyscapes Animals/Birds/Insects Street Art Street Photogrpahy Everyday Objects Seascapes/Rivers/All Water Summer Photography Odd/Unusual Flowers/Plants/Trees Landscapes New Zealand Abstract Humour Black and White Photography

  • This has got to be my favourite view and favourite bench from which to view from and you don’t need to be a rock climber either to get here, it’s about a 5 minute walk from the roadside and the views are amazing, shot from Castlehead viewpoint at keswick in the English lake district national park overlooking Derwentwater. / This was shot in the Summer of 2008.. /

  • I know, a bombardment of bench shots that I have taken, this one was taken at Rydalwater in the English lake distict national park, just north of Windermere… / It wasn’t a great day for light or weather but the clouds always look great up there.. / And what a place to take a rest hey? /

  • Featured in Streetscapes 7th December, 2008 The view of St Andrew’s Church from the roadway at Blagdon Lake. The Church has a 116-foot tower with pinnacles and a cusped lozenge pattern parapet, with a stair turret spirelet in the north-east corner. The tower was built between 1907 and 1909 by Lord Winterstoke (of the Wills tobacco family). The tower contains a bell dating from 1716 and made by Edward Bilbie of the Bilbie family. It is a Grade II listed building The lychgate to the east of the church is also a Grade II listed building in its own right. Above the door are four primitive Norman carvings which survived three rebuildings. The church is in Balgdon, Somerset, England.

  • The walk to get here is pretty tough, it’s 1.5 hours to get to the Labyrinth and it’s mosty about 45 degree climbing in some parts steeper and when raining hard makes for little fun. I waited for about 20 mins for the rain to stop and the cloud pass to show the Mountain, when it did i got this shot off, then a nasty front came straight over and heavy rain forced me to leave. So 3 hours walking for one shot. The Labyrinth is spectacular, but very easy to get lost, someone came in here a year ago and was never seen again, as always such places need to be respected for the danger that is always apparent. Anyone planning on a trip to the mountains in Tas even in Summer should know that weather can change in a second and you can be caught in a snow storm. But it is such a magic place and should be seen by anyone that loves the outdoors…..and cold!

  • Featured in Nature’s Reclamation group DEC 2008. Also in the Mangroves, Marshes and Mudflats group MAR 2009. HDR Nikon D80 – Nikkor 18-105mm VR lens – HOYA Pro-1 CPL / f-16 at 1/80sec / ISO 100 at 18mm focal length Sunderland, commonly known as Sunderland Point, is a small village among the marshes, on a windswept peninsula between the mouth of the River Lune, and Morecambe Bay, in Lancashire, England. It was used as a port for slave ships and cotton ships but its importance declined as other ports such as Lancaster were opened up.

  • I’ve been to Yosemite National Park several times in spring and summer. It’s always been a treat every time. Despite the many visitors this park draws, we manage to avoid the crowd by going early in the season or taking on trails that are less popular. Visiting Yosemite National in the winter was a visual delight, especially just hours after a snowstorm – which was the case when my husband and I decided to strap our snowshoes on and break snow for 7.6 miles via Badger Pass Trail. This is Dewey Point. Despite the patches of heavy fog, you can see Half Dome to the distant right.

  • Featured in Natural Colour and Light and Mountains, Light and Rural Around the Globe groups JAN 2009. Spotted this tree silhouette beside a country lane in my local village of Brindle, Lancashire. I thinks there’s an eerie atmosphere to this shot.

  • A Watercolour painting of one of the beautiful views of Wilsons Promotory. Wilsons Promotory is the Southernmost tip of mainland, Australia. The area features sandy beaches and sheltered coves, coastal dunes and swamps It could almost be an island with 80 miles of coastline except for the connection to the mainland at its North East corner. The surrounds are also home to many wildlife including wombats, koalas, wallabies, emus and kangaroos. A peaceful walk along its sandy beaches to refresh one’s soul and bring you closer to nature is surely a desire for all. A stroll alone along the sand / soaking in nature with its magic wand / the air is crisp the day is new / briskly walking enjoying the view….
