I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. This is the main cascade of Scalebar Force near Settle in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, England. The falls are 2 miles from the market town of Settle and are hid away in a narrow gorge just at the side of the road. Its a very popular spot for photographers as someone had kindly left some arranged leaves on the foreground boulder! Nikon D80/Nikkor 18-105mm VR lens, ISO100, 2 sec exposure at f-22. The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days.

This is a shot taken in Spring of the bluebells that carpet the floor of the Weald. I remember playing In and Out the Dusty Bluebells as a child at school. I wonder if it is still played anywhere today? In and out the dusty bluebells: All but one of the children stand in a circle, hold hands, and then lift them up into arches. The remaining child weaves in and out of the arches to the tune of In and out the dusty bluebells, In and out the dusty bluebells, In and out the dusty bluebells, Who shall be my partner? The child then stops and stands behind one of the other children in the circle. While they all sing the chorus, the child behind taps on the child’s shoulder in front. Tippy tippy tappy on your shoulder, Tippy tippy tappy on your shoulder. Tippy Tippy tappy on your shoulder, You shall be my partner. The child behind then gets hold of the second child’s waist, and they weave through the arches together, with the remaining children cloing up the circle. Thetwo then pick a third child at the chorus, and so on, with the line getting longer and longer until the last two in the circle foorma an arch, one gets chosen as the last partner and the last child starts a new game in the middle. How simple life was then.

A revamped image of Rowardennan Youth Hostel on Loch Lomond.

Taken at sunset at Laval-Ouest beach on 22/04/08(spring in Canada). Used my Canon A75. I am pleased with the color and calmness of the lake. The name came to me instantly. Although it cannot be seen by the viewer this area was flooded out and I had to take the shot from across the road as the water had spilled over. Featured in Live, Love, Dream group, October 2008

Went on a Church walk 31st January up the Langdale pikes in the English lake district national park Cumbria England, but unfortunately we didn’t get to the top due to the snow and there were youngsters in the group so weren’t taking any chances there, but had a great day out nevertheless and the light wasn’t bad all day, as I am their official photographer, I get to do all the photos..What a bind.. a joke hehehe. / This was one of the last I took today on our way down. / This was shot looking into the Langdale valley. / 3 shot HDR using monopod so am pretty pleased… /
