The Cape Otway lighthouse, at the bottom of Cape Otway, off the Great Ocean Road in western Victoria (Australia). See this website for more historical information about it: http://www.lighthouse.net.au/lights/VIC/Cape%20Otway/Cape%20Otway.htm After posting this image for critique on DSLRUsers.com (a photo forum I frequent), a couple of people suggested a wider crop and to perhaps lighten the image a bit. I did so, and have received favourable response. As such I have replaced the original that was here with the reworked image.
Taken in the afternoon haze as clouds roll over the mainland from the Southern Ocean, looking toward the Eastern members of the twelve apostles.
The Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island, Canada, is one of the world’s premier floral show gardens. Jennie Butchart began to shape this magnificent landscape in 1904. She established, in the style of the grand estates of the period, several distinct gardens to evoke a range of aesthetic experiences. An abandoned limestone quarry was transformed into the dramatic Sunken Garden. More from Butchart Gardens:
A stormy evening and eerie light. A bit of tone-mapping to accentuate the colour. The promenade looks like the bow of a ship jutting out into the bay. Corio Bay, Geelong. /
Sherbrooke forest just at the end of a showering of light rain. Perfect timing as it helped to give this wonderful misty glow.
