  • Can you find the tornado in this photograph? Look at the larger image and study the lowering beneath the storm carefully. There is a needle shaped tornado dancing it’s way across a field of grasshoppers and sunflowers in the Kansas prairie near the town of Protection. This is an extremely wide-angle shot, I have “leveled out” some of the distortion created by the fisheye, but not too much as to ruin the shot. I personally love how the inflow band appears to be tracking directly above the highway and leading right into the heart of the spinning dragon of the Great Plains. This storm was truly remarkable and produced several tornadoes for all those who came to watch.

  • Pencil Drawing of “The Statue of Liberty” Pre 911…

  • This stunning beauty was the most amazing dancer!

  • Photographed in morning light at Garden Of The Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado, processed in HDR Thoughts welcomed!

  • Waiting for the sun to set I decided to photograph this herd of cattle. I felt like I had interrupted some secret meeting… it was hardly a welcoming look from them. Notice the oddly marked cow in the middle of the herd. I didn’t notice him at the time, only when I uploaded to my computer. No photoshopping. / Rural Bluegrass Region of Kentucky USA A closer crop /

  • Aspens on Lake Peak, Pecos Wilderness, New Mexico, USA.

  • ‘Garden of the Gods’ is a wondrous ‘garden’ just out of downtown Colorado Springs. Known as ‘high desert’ Colorado Springs is nestled at the foot of Pike’s Peak, one of the many 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado. What’s bizarre is the fact this landscape spends most of the winter blanketed by snow, yet when the snow melts, much of it is dry and desert like. Colorado Springs is at around 9000 feet, so the air is clear but thin. This particular rock formation is called ‘The Prayer’ for obvious reasons. It’s an amazing place.

  • Still Water Reservoir, upstate New York, “Peace, Be Still” was featured in A VIEW SOMEWHERE on October 10, 2009

  • Bryce Canyon – USA tour 2008 – Trees barely hold on against the elements / please view large / Rich colors can be seen among the varied hoodoos, walls, and fins, the textures and formations were incredible. / I enjoyed the most amazing hike down to the bottom and the met the cutest Americans…...a bunch of overly friendly squirrels who had a habit of climbing up legs !!! Am not a tree nor do I have nuts :)) Yes, I had to capture them,,,, / Bryce Canyon is not a “real” canyon. It is not carved by flowing water. Water is the active ingredient here, but in the form of “frost-wedging” and chemical weathering. For 200 days a year the temperature goes above and below freezing every day. During the day, melt water seeps into fractures only to freeze at night, expanding by 9%. Now as ice, it exerts a tremendous force (2,000-20,000 pounds per squarte inch). Over time this “frost-wedging” shatters and pries rock apart. In addition, rain water, which is naturally acidic, slowly dissolves the limestone, rounding off edges and washing away debris. / . / WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • Here is another of my extensive images of Monument Valley. I seem to have gone nuts that day with the shutter, but I have quite a number of good images to show for it. This image has been processed from 2 RAW shots, in Photomatix and given a light HDR effect. They were then stiched in CS3 and given final adjustments in curves and a light crop to make the image complete. The photo’s were taken with a Nikon D70. I can’t wait to return and shoot the Valley again with my D300. Just have to find the time…

  • Driving along highway 78 near Absarokee early one morning, I spotted this scene begging to be photographed. I adore Western Montana, it has so much going for it – Glacier National Park, beautiful mountains, forests and lakes, good arable land and prairies, lovely wild flowers, abundance of wildlife, and great people too ! / Sorry, I have no name for the wee lake ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, on a tripod, with polarising filter attached, f22, 1/6 sec, Auto WB, RAW file processed in Photoshop CS3, with just minor levels/curves adjustments. A little boost to the colours in LAB mode. /

  • a city street in Philadelphia.. / 7th street, wakes up to a day of rain and the wonders of watercolor ::) a digital manipulation of a shot I took in Philadelphia., Pensylvania..

  • Yellowstone National Park, USA. / I think maybe that when you visit Yellowstone, it feels like you are on another planet, nothing seems for real ! / The colours and ‘scapes are outlandish, like Mother Nature flipped out ! Weird and wonderful ! / It can be difficult to photograph – the wind was blowing the hot steam towards me very often, fogging up the lens, making everything very wet, not good with those electronics ! / ( I was told that the moisture from the steam can actually etch the lens, so be warned !) / The other problem is folk passing by making the boardwalk bounce around, shaking the tripod…......LOL !! / Fall is a great time to visit, a bit crowded, but those colours really zing out, and the steam is intensified by the cold Autumn air. / Oh to be there in Winter….............. Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, hand held, f13, 1/90 sec, at 49mm, iso 100, auto wb, polarising filter, RAW file, processed in PS CS3, levels/curves, selective colour adjustments, finished with LAB colour and Intellisharpen.
