From Gairloch on the north-west coast of Scotland, a little road turns off along the coast to Big Sand and then on, getting narrower, past the tiny hamlet of North Erradale and along the clifftops to the lighthouse at Melvaig. Take it and I promise you will see spectacular scenery such as this spot looking back to the mountains of Skye. Sunsets from here are wonderful and you may spot gannets hurtling into the sea way below you. / Canon SX10 1S handheld /

We had a stunning sunset, I was planning on heading down to the coast, But it was to late, So I headed to Applecross jetty instead. It was a low tide when I arrived, Which was also a bonus. Low tide on the Bay of Fundus is a great time to go through the tidal pools in search of dinner. / But one as to be forever on watch for the changing tide, for in within 30 min, the tidal bore rises. / Any being caught here is in serious and immediate danger from the bore. / Still, there are many enticing tidbits to be gleaned.
