  • “I shifted in my saddle to try and get more comfortable. It had been a long day in the saddle and I was becoming fatigued. We finally made it to the entrance of the Copper Canyon being our final destination. It was great to see there was still plenty of water in the river, we’d need that for drinking, washing and fossicking. Rumours of gold in these hills was the talk in all the towns out west. I had followed the old worn map easily and was now feeling excited at the prospect of finding gold. The light was fading fast, best find a secure spot to pitch the tent, cook a meal and get an early night. It was going to be a early start in the morning. The rest of the team should be arriving with additional supplies around noon tomorrow”. Macro photograph taken from a rock! My passion is finding macro art in rocks and tree bark. Most of the rock and tree bark that I photograph were shot locally either on the gold coast or in the hinterland. /

  • A great conflict was about to come off between the Birds and the Beasts. When the two armies were collected together the Bat hesitated which to join. The Birds that passed his perch said: “Come with us”; but he said: “I am a Beast.” Later on, some Beasts who were passing underneath him looked up and said: “Come with us”; but he said: “I am a Bird.” Luckily at the last moment peace was made, and no battle took place, so the Bat came to the Birds and wished to join in the rejoicings, but they all turned / against him and he had to fly away. He then went to the Beasts, but soon had to beat a retreat, or else they would have torn him to pieces. “Ah,” said the Bat, “I see now, “He that is neither one thing nor the other has no friends.”
