  • Canon 10D / 17-40mmL Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Lower Antelope Canyon, called Hasdeztwazi, or “spiral rock arches” by the Navajo, is located a few kilometers away from the upper Antelope Canyon and is a more difficult hike.   • Captured along the Mount Evans Wilderness in Colorado, this is one of those waterfalls that kind of sneaks up on ya outta the blue, and if you blink, you actually miss it. I really don’t much in the way of long exposure shots, but after being happy with how this one came out, I am going to start doing them more. Hope ya all like it!   • Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA, Taken Summer Vacation 2007 Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet (165 m) and a lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with a gradual 9 foot (3 m) drop in elevation between the two, so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 620 feet (189 m). Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the State of Oregon. / The Multnomah Creek Bridge on the Historic Columbia River Highway. / Colorized picture of the waterfall before the footbridge was addedUnderground springs from Larch Mountain are the year-round source of water for the waterfall, augmented by spring runoff from the mountain’s snowpack and rainwater during the other seasons. A foot trail leads to Benson Footbridge, a 45-foot (14 m)-long footbridge that allows visitors to cross 105 feet (32 m) above the lower cascade. The trail continues to a platform at the top of the upper falls, the Larch Mountain Lookout, where visitors get a bird’s-eye view of the Columbia Gorge and also of “Little Multnomah”, a small cascade slightly upstream from the “upper” falls, which is not visible from ground level. The footbridge is named after Simon Benson, who had the bridge built in 1914.[1] Photo taken by Canon IXUS My work is copyrighted and does not belong to the Public Domain Copyright:All Rights Reserved / Registered:Mon Mar 23 21:30:17 UTC 2009 / Fingerprint:Show digital fingerprint / d8131b583587455963e4e871bab7088b06eb562ff73f80d69f8e2defe4f7f042 / Title:Serenity / Description:Photo of Multnomah Falls Oregon USA / MCN:CB372-797DF-ED9B6 “Serenity” FEATURED FOR RB Homepage…...Thankyou so much RB:):):) / Plus…one of the top Ten in ‘The Best of Oregon” Challenge:):):) And ‘CONGRATULATIONS!!” To all the contestants and everyone who made the Top Ten:):) Proudly Taken By a Canon IXUS….Canon Simply the Best:=}
