This image was taken @ Port Willunga at the remains of the old jetty. On a recent journey back to Port Willunga recently, I’d noticed that many of these posts had been burnt. The last remains of the old Port Willunga jetty, South Australia. Port Willunga Beach was recently named as the only Australian location in ‘Travel and Leisure’ magazine – hip travel list of emerging destinations. A golden beach near Lahaina glowing in the light of the setting sun as a gnarled Banyan Tree appears to reach for drink in the rising tide.

A trio of boulders on Indian Beach surrounded by the seas of the incoming tide as the sun sets over the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. I arrived with another photographer to catch the sunset. It was raining, he left while I slipped on my rainjacket and was able to catch the spetacular colors of this sunset.

The Infinity Fountain Once more, standing alone in front of another memory, I harvest my thoughts from the infinity fountain ahead. The cycle repeats, as I find myself pulled away from the tedious life of today, feeling I could grab the source and remain there silently… / After one hour of search and 20 minutes waiting under a rock for the intense rain to stop, the skies finally opened to let the sun set in and show it’s strength. The beach was absolutely desert, and the next 30 minutes were made of pure photographic pleasure… I came home wet and cold, but my inside was warm and soothed… José Ramos

Dramatic Scottish sunset over Sand Dunes near Arisaig, Western Scotland. Some may know this beach from the film ‘Local Hero’ This Photograph won Editors Choice as well as Photo of the week on the website ePHOTOzine.com : “Every month editor Pete will explain why he has chosen a particular Photo of the Week. This month: Arisaig Sunset by arwengrace. Photo Of The Week Comment from Pete Barr Angela Barnett (arwengrace) usually grabs my attention with fascinating magical-style montages. Her more recent work has been landscapes and this one, taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, really caught my eye as well as many of the members. It has exceeded 200 votes of confidence. / So what’s so special? Well for me it’s the amazing depth of colour and atmosphere. Sunsets are always popular, but this takes the glorious ‘ah-factor’ colours of a sunset and adds an incredible ‘wow’ topping of drama. There’s not really anything to lead you around the shot or vie for your attention, just a complete canvas of painterly light with the contrast of the dark monotone snow and the depth and incredibly colourful cloud formations. I bet it looks wonderful printed.”

Click Here Upper Antelope Canyon Is a spectacular petrified sand dune, created by wind, water and sand, presenting a sculptured masterpiece. / My Navajo Indian guide was lovely and explained many of the legends associated with this area. Unfortunately the skies here in the desert are mostly hazy and full of sand and dust! There are not too many days when there are clear horizons with clouds, and to be able to catch a sunrise like this was just excellent! Located in Libya towards the Algerian border. / /

Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies.
