The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. ....sometimes it pays to turn around. / You’ll notice that this is a view from behind the Tree, not the traditional view. Most of us that go there mainly photograph it from the other side…. something made me turn around on this particular night.

Saint Mary’s Lake is in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. I believe I was rather lucky to get such a calm day as I witnessed here, since I was told that for quite some weeks they had been experiencing unusually bad weather for the time of year ! Glacier is an amazing place, with its primeval mountain shapes, and abundant wildlife, lakes and waterfalls, and many good trails. I was hearing the Elk bugling across the lake as I shot. I would recommend this magic place to anyone ! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, mounted on tripod, polarising filter, f22, 1/30 sec, iso 100, auto WB, Raw file, processed in Adobe CS3, selective levels/curves and selective colour adjustments.
