At Day’s End As the sun goes down over the front range mountains of Denver, Colorado, the Sunflowers turn, in anticipation of the sun coming back up in the morning. Photographed in a field where all you can see for miles and miles is Sunflowers….billions of Sunflowers. An entire sea of yellow and gold….caught in my lens for a fleeting instant, where the whole world was at peace…. This was taken at Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, where the mill is in the image is a small village called Godmanchester.. Took quite a while to do this but im pretty happy with how it turned out so was well worth the effort :-)

This was taken near Clare, two hours north of Adelaide, South Australia, on New Year’s Eve. The colours depicted a hot summer and a perfect end to that year. The power lines drew my eye to the distance and in a sense to the future, and all that it held. This was taken using a Canon DSLR EOS 350D. This shot was featured in the Simple by Design Group.

This is my “Supreme” 2008 Aquatint Etching! Well, it is a copper plate etching, which has been aquatinted over and over and over again, until at last, its love finally! This is my daughter, she is sleeping and dreaming…her soul is at peace as she falls into a deep sleep. This is my third copper plate aquatint etching for the year….they are all 30×30 plates on A2 cream University paper. This one is my favorite though. I have printed up 10 of this edition, and can’t wait to print up some more. I am absolutely wrapped in this one. I hope you like it to, if you have any questions about etching or aqautinting please ask me, I would sleep in the print room and breath in the ink and ferric acid every day if I could! These autumn colours and reflections were taken at Oakbank, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia, in autumn (obviously). I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D on a tripod. This is an HDR shot. I used 3 shots merged together with Photomatix Pro. This was details enhanced.

Impressionist, painterly / two boys doing what they do best in the rain. Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

Black glass magic – I had gone on this shoot with a bad attitude, expecting the sky to be bland and the day to be a waste of time, and therefore I set the camera on large jpg so I wouldn’t waste too much computer space….As it turned out, I’ve managed to drag out some amazing results. This is another straight from the camera image, although I had to take it into PS to straighten the horizon…. Canon 5D Mk II, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/10, 90seconds, ISO 50, Hoya NDX400, Singh Ray 3 stop reverse grad, Lee 0.9 ND grad, tripod, cable release, lots of guessing….I should point out the red sky is enhanced by the Singh Ray filter, which seems to put a colour cast across the ND area when used in conjunction with the Lee filter…. - / SEASCAPES / NEW ZEALAND / PEOPLE

/ / Original pencil drawing on Aquarelle Arches paper 56×76cm / Drawing 15 hours/painting 12 hours = 27 hours total A digitally painted hand drawn artwork… the inspiration for this is “Meeting Places”... As a child one of the most frequent things we did together as a family was to attend church on Sundays, I went to a Catholic School and the church I remember best was St Agnes’ at Port Macquarie… the nuns would come over for morning tea sometimes, and the priests would come for dinner occasionally…they were the days of fun parish picnics and life that wasn’t so hurried..when we took time to socialise, meeting and enjoying one another’s company. Mum was/is a great cook and host…and although this picture isn’t authentic as a portrait of her and myself…it’s representative. It’s also representative of new life and hope for the future, as the mother figure is with child….. and the child herself nurtures the wildlife…perhaps she is taking them to church for a blessing… perhaps the joey has lost his mother and needs nursing til he can fend for himself. The kookaburra is all seeing and all knowing….. the wise overseer of the bush… in this case, he stands in as the owl figure.
