The trees drink from the first rain in months at Pine River Park…..............something we’ve all been dreaming about here, so I tried to give a dreamlike quality to the picture. Brisbane Neighbourhood

Panoramic winter landscape in Provence.
This was shot mid-winter in Central New York. I love the way that the stream disappears in the center of the shot. I shoot waterways, trails, tracks or any other form that the center winds and disappears in the center.
throw your bike on the train in downtown munich and in just 90 minutes you’ll be in the alps, alighting at the charming village of mittenwald, famed for its woodcarvers, violin makers and mittenwalder beer…......from here you have a choice of many well maintained hiking/biking trails that will take you up into its beautiful surrounding alpine valleys….. we chose the route to the upper lakes of lautersee and ferchensee NikonSuperCoolscan/MinoltaMaxxum / Fuji REALA fine 100

A pine tree in the mist…... just before spring.
The Minarets are the jagged peaks in the mountain range near the center. There are 17 of them and the tallest is Clyde Minaret at 12,281 ft. They are part of the Ritter Range which is the oldest range of mountains in the Sierra Nevadas. They were formed by millions of years of glacial carving, winds, ice, and earthquakes.

The Alabama Hills in California’s Owen’s Valley shows great cloud patterns and unique rocks leading up to Mount Williamson in the Sierra Nevada range. The Alabama hills is located west of Lone Pine, California where many motion pictures have been shot. Alabama Hills is basically a series of hills with rounded countours that wind their way up to the Sierra Nevada mountains like Mt. Whitney and Mt. Williamson. This place is filled with trails and jumbo rocks and is a lot of fun to explore. The rocks are metamorphosed volcanic rock and granite. On your way up to Bishop and Mammoth this is truly a place you want to check out!
The granite may be tough but the pine has to defeat it in order to live and grow. At treeline there isn’t much dirt…It’s mostly granite boulders and the occasional monolith. Trees grow out of cracks in the granite and as they get larger they split the rocks in a fight for survival. Taken at the trail summit near Treasure Lakes, Little Lakes Valley, Eastern Sierra Nevadas of California.
A beautiful winter snow scape on Christmas.
Posting on December 26, I thought this would be an appropriate image. If we’re able to withstand the weather, even in winter mother nature provides us with beauty. Dryden, ON. / Olympus E-510

Rocky Mountain National Park at it’s best. I’ve been to a huge number of National Parks throughout the western US and Canada and have found none better than Rocky. Worth a visit any time of year. Panasonic Lumix DMC-.FZ12
This image was captured in Port Saint Lucie, Florida at the Oxbow eco-center during a Photowalk with the Redbubblers of the Treasure Coast group on August 2009 with a Canon 450D using an EFS 55-250mm lens / Focal Length 123mm / Exposure Time 1/320s / Aperture F8 / ISO-100 The Slash Pine (Pinus elliottii) is a pine native to the southeast United States, from southern South Carolina west to southeastern Louisiana, and south to the Florida Keys. It is fast-growing, but not very long-lived by pine standards (to 200 years), and prefers humid climates and moist soil. Slash Pine is named after the “slashes” – swampy ground overgrown with trees and bushes – that constitute its habitat. This tree reaches heights of 18–30 m (59–98 ft) with a trunk diameter of 0.6–0.8 m (2.0–2.6 ft). The leaves are needle-like, very slender, in clusters of two or three, and are 18–24 cm (7.1–9.4 in) long. The cones are glossy red-brown, 5–15 cm (2.0–5.9 in) in length with a short (2–3 mm/0.079–0.12 in), thick prickle on each scale. It is known for its conical shape. / Also available as a 8 X 10 photo print / Click Images below to visit my Gallery / Thank You for Visiting my Gallery / Here are more places to find my work / / / Gallery Maintained by envelope150 / © COPYRIGHT NOTICE: NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO REPRODUCE OR DOWNLOAD ANY IMAGES WITHOUT MY EXPRESSED WRITTEN PERMISSION.THESE IMAGES ARE NOT TO BE USED IN ADVERTISING OR MASS REPRODUCTION OF ANY FORM.
