  • I can only speculate that the winds in the fall blew fine mist, off Wabigoon Lake, onto the shoreline at freeze up. Grass, small shrubs and the rocks are covered in a thick layer of ice. • watercolour 12” x 16” on Arches cold pressed 140lb paper / dry brush technique, Grumbacher paints. Arriving in Schreiber, Ontario, from the west along HWY 17, a semi brakes as he glides downhill into the old railroad town. The early morning sun highlights some mist still clinging to the hills in the previous night’s chill air. This painting is less realistic than a lot of my work, and was my second attempt at painting this scene.

  • a glimpse into what we are going through here.. it makes finding these images out in nature worth it.. one set of neighbors(pink house) seem to think that yelling at us and calling us losers..is ok.. in front of my 7 yr old child… ie ..we have the neighbors from hell next door..and are still in the process of leaving this place..hopefully soon..and I would not wish this on anyone…the hell they have put us through.. I just try and show nature at it’s finest and my husband and child and I just am tired of their constant harrasment. I checked and they are not in photo life magazine as a emerging photographer..i am so frustrated…as are my husband and child… note / Many thanks to the Four Police Officers for coming out to see the video and have a chat with our neighbors (pink house)....it has been constant daily harassment from them and Perhaps this will put an end to it..and thank to Nikon for putting the video component into the camera:thumbsup: it has come in handy….have a great weekend.. / Nikon D90

  • Every 300 years or so the planet Hale’akala glows red with anger, it is then time when offerings are made to the Goddess Pele. A time when our old and unhealthy give themselves, so that the strong may live. Stories and legends tell that this tower that rises 500 feet above to sea was once a great sky ship, and it sailed between the stars, it brought the people here to this place. / Our people have some very strange stories, how could something so big fly? But then I am old and unhealthy, the mind is slipping….........................so

  • I visited the Ontario Badlands near my city of Toronto a long time ago…it was a very brief visit…to tell you the truth I found the rolling hills of iron oxide to be a bit scary and walking on them I was terrifiged of falling into a gully…what made me start to paint this “imaginary” version of the Badlands is a mystery…the painting is not quite like they are, but I feel I have captured the essential emptyness of the land….obviously my memory has made them a whole lot less terrifying and I have eliminated the surrounding forest as well… the red and the blue colours are exactly the same as the rocky hills.. below are two samples from the second “Journey” saga posted earlier this year. Watercolour on Arches Paper They say the mind does strange things to remembered things.. / It molds them into more acceptable shapes. / How else can we accept the horrors that we knew.. / The faces, the voices, the “badlands” of the past.
