A dark path through a wooded area
On holiday in Inverloch, Victoria, Australia, December 2007, we decided to take a short trip up the coast to a beach called Eagles Nest. It has a rock formation that I wanted to shoot, but unfortunately, the sunrise didn’t suit the shot. I couldn’t resist this shot when I saw it. Sometimes a photo shoot doesn’t go quite to plan, but always keep an eye out for the unexpected shot while you are there. Shot with a Canon 350D.

Had a photo safari lunch break at work today!! This is the Hudson River. These are remnants of an old old dock… SOOOOO windy today!! I could barely stand to get these shots!! But this one just reminded me of family and staying together. The little piece of wood is only being held up by the rope and the other larger logs, like a Mother and Father holding a child… /
/ This is also the Hudson River.

Black and white photo of falling tree trunks in city park
taken at cronulla beach up towards boat harbour
The mountains in this picture look so fake almost like they were painted making this picture particularly unique.

This 4 shot panorama was a new experience for me as I traversed the log instead of staying in one spot. Hope you enjoy it.

Lost in the Smokey Mountains I was…. Hasselblad 500 CM TriX film
oil pastel on canson 7X9” This painting was created as a challenge. I would have chosen something different but I’m also learning more about oil pastel. Something I never thought until I joined the challenge was to use acrylic gel as a sealer for the oil pastel so I tried it and liked the result.

Hollow Log Jack Hollow Log Jack frequented the Manaro country. He reckoned he never slept anywhere but in a hollow log, and swore that there wasn’t a camping place to equal it.He knew every hollow log along the routes he travelled and cleaned out many of them. When he moved on he plugged the ends so that snakes and rabbits would not take possession.According to Hollow log Jack a man needed one blanket on the coldest of nights in these bunks. One end was plugged to stop draughts.Sometimes he walked late into the night to reach a log.His dog went in first and cleared out any wild intruders, then the dog crawled out and the swagman crawled in.Appropriately enough, Jack was found dead in a hollow log.
