HMS Warrior is a nineteenth century ironclad. She’s a beautiful vessel moored permanently within the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth. I pass her every day on the way into work and she never fails to give me a little lift. When I was coming home and the sunset was looking so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist missing my ferry home for this shot!

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

Mindscape is a mental or psychological scene or area of the imagination. The word is most suitable to the filed of psychology. Mindscape has two words combined in such a way that the meaning goes beyond it – Mind and Escape… It can be translated as a Mind that wants to escape or a Mind that is in route of escaping. This adventure can be in the sense of reality or in spiritual world. / Depression sufferers escape from facts, hallucinates escape from reality, psychotics and neurotics escape from many other forms of life. We usually state that they are people who require help so that they can live an ordinary life. But who is to decide what is normal and what is abnormal? If ones can see the other side of horizon, according to them they deem the facts strongly that they hold about life, oneself and reality. They believe they are the right ones who are amongst wrong people. Are you one of them? I tend to assume we all are, one way or another. After I demonstrated a few wave painting techniques, I later thought to join them up into a painting! A Spontaneous watercolour! Watercolour 14” x 10” on Bockingford rough 140lb. So far, nobody has spotted the little men in white shirts, clinging for life, to the torn-off mast (left side of painting). I’ve entered this into Impressionism Cafe,‘seascapes’
The first impressionists took advantage of the introduction of premixed paints in tubes where paint is laid on an area of the surface very thickly, usually thickly enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. / Characteristics of impressionist paintings include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities effecting colour, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception, and unusual visual angles. / Short, thick strokes of paint are used to quickly capture the essence of the subject, rather than its details. The paint is often applied impasto. / Colours are applied side-by-side with as little mixing as possible, creating a vibrant surface. The optical mixing of colours occurs in the eye of the viewer. / My form of impressionism starts with digital photography and I then develop this into my own art form and exploit the aspects of the digital painting medium embracing and showing the painterly aspect, rather than trying to hide the act of creation. My work is hand painted digital painting and is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.
The future is always beginning now. Mark Strand
There are more than 6 billion human beings on Earth. According to the population estimates released by the United Nations, the 6 billion mark was reached on October 12 1999. Lonely ship…
Best Viewed Large About the Ship….. / The French ship Glorieux was a second rate 74 gun ship in the French Navy. Built by Clairin Deslauriers at Rochefort and launched on 10 August 1756, she was rebuilt in 1777. She was captured by the British at the Battle of the Saintes on 10 April 1782 and commissioned into the Royal Navy as HMS Glorieux or HMS Glorious the following day. She was rated as a third rate. She sailed with the fleet for England on 25 July 1782 but was lost later that year in a hurricane storm off Newfoundland on 16-17 September, along with the other captured French prize ships Ville de Paris, Hector and Caton. Glorieux was lost with all hands, including her captain, Thomas Cadogan, son of Charles Cadogan, 3rd Baron Cadogan. This disaster to the fleet of Admiral Graves also saw the loss of HMS Ramillies, HMS Centaur, the storeships Dutton and British Queen, and other merchantmen from a convoy of 94 ships, with a total of over 3,500 men lost / .Wikipedia.
