My two favorite times of the day are, sunrise and sunset. This is a sunset piece. I love how the sky has just a little bit of color left in it and how the water has the sun reflecting off of it. The tall colorful grasses in the foreground make me want to part the grasses and see what I might be missing. As calming and beautiful as the view is, I like to add some reality to it. I added a few small bugs. Just as you’re taking a pause to enjoy the last bits of daylight, a bug lands on you and you say,” it’s time to go in, the bugs are out”.

Snaking accross the landscape, or landed like a great radioactive carpet, that acid/toxic yellow canola always grabs me visually. It just jumps out as you round a bend in the road or come over a crest. Canola, early spring, Aldersyde/Pingelly road.
