Richmond Bridge is a lasting symbol of Tasmania’s convict heritage. The sandstone arches of Australia’s oldest known large stone arch bridge have spanned Tasmania’s Coal River since its completion in 1825. Built by convict labour, the Richmond Bridge reminds us of the forced migration that contributed to the development of Australian society. Richmond Bridge was included in the National Heritage List on 25 November 2005.
As I drove out to the distant Salina’s Pueblo Mission Ruins in the middle of no where New Mexico (I mean REALLY out there!) , I drove through many Indian Reservations….a few were a tad on the scary side if ya will…however this one where I shot this on was a little larger and signs of life seemed rather optimistic. I saw this scene and just knew I had to stop and take it, a glimpse into the historical past of the Native American people of the Manzano tribe and Nation….. Thoughts welcomed!
Outside of The Mount Evans Wilderness at Echo Lake, Colorado As the title suggests, nothing but clean, fresh mountain air at an altitude of 10,600 feet high! Processed in HDR, your thought are welcomed!

This was taken at my old house, which was located on about 100 acres, and it also had a 2 km long driveway, not a lie. I was walking down it to get the mail and decided to take a shot looking back towards the barn and house. I tried a new effect on it and would love to know what you think. Thanks so much for looking and commenting. =)smile

It dominates the five maritime “cribs” that give their name to the Cinqueterre territory (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso). It has notably contributed, thanks to its people’s work, in building up a unique landscape in the world, at the heart of the fabolous Cinqueterre scenary. It is a village with strong roots in peasantry, in vineyards, in wine production, but it is also a village that is quickly changing into a tourist place. Through the creation of reception/hospitality structures, of travelling services, it gives the tourists the opportunity of enjoying many various walks, either up in the hills or down along the seaside and eventually diving into the sea. Characters of the buildings in the village: the original circular structure makes to think of a possible Etrurian origin; the most ancient side cannot be seen from the sea.

A park near my home has areas that are less traveled and underdeveloped, which is where I found this natural setting of trees, brush and water. This is the first photo that I went edit crazy with during processing, attempting to convey a sense of mystery to what was just an ordinary nature scene. / ________ Nikon D40 with 18-55mm GII lens / 19mm ~ 1/250’s ~ f / 6.3 ~ ISO=200 / Hand held, heavy processing with Nikon Capture NX 2. / ________ / ________ / ________

The Sound of the Sun / Embrace of the Everlasting “It makes one all right, / though you hadn’t thought of it, / A sound like the sound of the sky on fire, / like Armageddon, / Whistling and crackling, the explosions of sunlight booming / As the huge mass of gas rages into the emptiness around it. It isn’t a sound you are often aware of, / though the light speeds / To us in seconds, / each dawn leaping easily across a chasm / Of space that swallows the sound of that sphere, / but If you listen closely some morning, when the sun swells Over the horizon and the world is stil / and still asleep, / You might hear it, / a faint noise so far inside your mind / That it must come from somewhere, / from light rushing to darkness, / Energy burning towards entropy, / towards a peaceful solution, / Burning brilliantly, spontaneously, in the middle of nowhere, And you, too, must make a sound that is somewhat like it, Though that, of course, you have no way of hearing at all.” ~ The Sound of the Sun by George Bradley Sun Pillar / Sunset near Chena River Lakes Recreational Park / Wilderness of North Pole Alaska / From my collection: / Emerquinox Spirit of Alaska / Emerquinox is a word I coined when I combined the words Emerge and Equinox.
